Strasburg needs Tommy John .............. probably
ESPN is reporting that Strasburg will need Tommy John surgery to repair torn elbow ligament. It might not be on the website yet but Sage Steel just reported it on SportsCenter

Don’t remember the exact quote from Strasburg’s first start….or who said it. But it was pretty dang ridiculous that it was being said about a kid in his first start. Wait…it was ESPN Hype.
On top of other reasons…this is one major example of why you can’t make that claim…especially 1 start into his career.
Hopefully he comes back….as many TJ surgery guys do…but he may never have that SICK hook he had again
it is Tommy John surgery
he will come back stronger than before and he will likely still be one of the first 2009 draftee’s to make the all star team

it takes a year recovery
and another year to regain the control you had.
again…I think he comes back…but not all guys do. Injuries happen

but can you name the last top pitcher/pitching prospect that didn’t come back from TJ?
