Zack Greinke is not happy
Read the rest of the story here
Maybe Moore will have a AARP moment and say fine you want out here you go.
Now all this might mean nothing right now but what if he continues to pop off and tries to force the Royals hand? Now that the Rangers have GnR in place might they take a run at Greinke in the offseason? If so what would be the cost? Perez and Font for Greinke would ya?
UPDATE: ESPN.com's Buster Olney suggests the Royals will probably start seriously listening to offers for Zack Greinke this winter. The reigning Cy Young Award winner expressed his frustration with the organization yesterday.

EWWW!!!
Greinke + Lee for the nexxt two years!
Id deal half our top 6 to get him pretty easily.
Feliz says his greatest thrill was striking out Boston Red Sox DH David Ortiz, one of his heroes. Yet, when he called to tell his parents, his mother had a request: Strike out New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez, too.
"So when I did that," Feliz says, "I told my mom, 'There you go. There's your present. Don't ask me to strike anyone else out, OK?'
I'd be so pissed if I were
Grienke or really any decent Royals player. Or a fan, of course. That was once a great franchise. They have a beautiful park. Historically it’s a good baseball town and they’d come out in droves if they had any faith in that team. And they’re in a winnable division. It’s not like they’re Baltimore or anything and have a million juggernauts ahead of them. What the fuck is their problem?
Oh and I’d give anything in the system up for Grienke, pending a thorough physical.
It was a great time growing up in KC as a kid in the 80’s…George Brett, Bo Jackson, Brett Saberhagen.
I don’t even follow them anymore, they’re a damn joke.

Best Farm System
Goldstein, at Newberg Night, said the Royals have the best farm system. I asked Law the same question. He said that it is unfair to do the rankings before the draft signing deadline, but at the moment he agrees with Goldstein. All is not lost for the Royals.

That's not even counting the
half dozen left-handed pitching studs: Monty, Dwyer, Lamb, etc.
That's why they call them business sox
Who was the dude who retired to work on an ice cream truck in Upper Volta or some shit?
That was a pretty big blow, but their system is deep enough if didn’t even make that much of a dent.

Perhaps I'm blinded by JD's awesomeness and overly confident in his wizard powers, but I'm not convinced we'd have to give up Marteen

Exactly
Imagine a well-financed JD matching up with a Dayton Moore desperate to get some value, any value out of a disgruntled Greinke.
That’s a recipe for legalized theft if there ever was one.

You know, there's lots to make fun of with Moore...
…but he and his crew can identify young talent. Just look at their farm system.
I may concede that point
And raise it…look at all the young talent the Rangers possess now. Let them pick from a select list and it should be fair to both sides.

I prefer "theft" to "fair"
Its more fun when the media and blogs laud your awesome GM and mock the other GM.

Thats what is so bizarre
As good as their farm system is, they have been horrific at making big league roster moves.
How much of that farm talent is due to just having a favorable draft position? Even the pre-Silverman Rays put together good young talent because they had a top pick year after year.

Top draft picks doesn't guarantee top talent
Take a look at Houston. They even reached for Deshields because they were afraid someone was going to take him. You think they would have been able to sign him at slot or slightly below. They still went overslot for him. There are many other draft picks where they’ve completely screwed it up. Somehow a blind squirrel found a nut with Jordan Lyles, who was just promoted to AAA @ 19 after dominating the Texas League
It's about to happen.
I can’t wait.

You'd better hope for an ERA meltdown next year then.
Your only hope of not giving up Perez would be a combination of KC deciding to cut payroll and Greinke stinking it up (at least in conventional terms) in 2011.
Well, Moore is pretty stupid.
So maybe. But even if that’s what it took I’d do it, no problem.

this
do we have any shitty shortstops that we can give him. heck, I’d throw Sardinas and Lemon their way. The Royals GM would take that for sure if he likes Betancourt so much
A baseball game is simply a nervous breakdown divided into nine innings.
Yeah... Sardinas does not belong in the "shitty SS" conversation.
He could be as good as Profar some day, just different.

…but only because you’re constantly worried about Hamilton being injured. Otherwise he’s more valuable playing everyday and scaring the shit out of AL pitchers. At least you’re pretty sure Wash wouldn’t have Grienke in CF.

Hamilton is also older and this is the first time since he was a young, clean prospect that he's more valuable than Greinke, and it's not by a whole lot.
The only thing that would give me pause is Hamilton’s marketability. I’d miss him, but that trade would be so awesome.

Staff Ace via FA or TRade
For those of you keeping better track of TORPs likely available via FA or trade during the off-season, Does Lee rank as the best of the bunch or are there one or two others that peak your interest? Who are your top five (if there are that many)?
FAs ain't pretty, lemme just say that
The following players have contracts expiring or should have the six years of service necessary to become free agents after the 2010 season.

"I support you, Wash; I’ve always supported you," Young said

Does it matter
The team has options for all of the non-TORP spots in the rotation (and should still have a pretty salty bullpen). There are no real non-Lee TORPs out there this year.
Oswalt will probably be a FA next offseason, but obviously he’s staying put this offseason. I imagine the Cardinals take care of Carpenter.
If Brad Pitt is playing Beane who do you want playing you?
JD: Eddie Guardado.
Others that are interesting
Beckett
Webb
Beckett will probably want a lot also, and there’s a little concern that his FIP and xFIP are in the 4s now.
Webb obviously has some health issues.
Becket has already signed an extension.
Along the lines of Lackey’s. Webb will do good to get a minor league deal with all of his injuries.

but I can’t blame him for it. There’s been a lot of uncertainty in his life, between the early collapse and the depression. Anytime you’re offered 20+ million dollars, you’re tempted. Even if everyone around you tells you you’re worth more.

Texas might be a good fit after they fail to sign Lee this offseason. Very relaxed no pressure fanbase as 40+ years of being the worst franchise in sports has kept expectations low.
