Cowboys/Miami preseason disaster thread
ZZZZZzzzzzz preseason is so boring.
No starters and no Dez? So much for all the hype.
Who thinks the Cowboys may be destined for a debacle season? I dont want to get too worried over preseason but Garrett better get it together. Wade's defense will be there, it's all on Garrett to stop his idiotic situational and red zone play calling.
I think Ron Washington's patented fumes of suckiness are starting to infect the Cowboys.
BTW, just for conversations sake, Tony Romo and Jon Kitnas stats this preseason
| Player | Att | Comp | Yds | Comp % | Yds/Att | TD | TD % | INT | INT % | Long | Sck | Sack/Lost | Rating |
| Tony Romo | 46 | 26 | 287 | 56.5 | 6.2 | 1 | 2.2 | 2 | 4.3 | 30 | 5 | 32 | 64.3 |
| Jon Kitna | 39 | 24 | 285 | 61.5 | 7.3 | 2 | 5.1 | 0 | 0.0 | 32 | 3 | 23 | 100.9 |

Is there EVER
A time Garrett doesn’t run on 2nd and 10?
Seriously, ever?
It’s absolutely ridiculous.
Hey
There was a second and long play in this game where Garrett threw! I’m certain of it. WOW. Nice like 8-9 yard completion too.
Course then he kind of messed up the smart call by deciding to throw on the following third and short, but I’ll take what I can get.
Cowbaby fans better get ready to screaming obsentities at the TV
oh…and their wont be any Romo jerseys on the Jerry world field come February.
Cowboys offense looked a lot better
Guess it’s time to get back on the bandwagon. Just in time for the regular season, how convenient.
Is Sparano calling plays in Miami?
I hope not. Their OC was Henning, who’s older than dirt and gone, thought it was him. But I see Sparano carrying around one of those plastic playsheets.
Great, if it’s Sparano, the Fins might not actually suck. And that’s a blow to my Parcells hate.
Refs hate the Cowboys
I’m convinced.
Saw a ton of Miami defensive offsides not called in this game, but EVERY ticky tack foul gets called on the Cowboys. LIke the one on that return just there.
We’re going to see a lot of ten penalty games against the Boys as usual, and all thanks to ref bias.
COWBOYS WIN! COWBOYS WIN!
COWBOYS WIN THE SUPER BOWL!
If we had a bomb, Pantera would hang out with us.
The long throw to Hurd was nice.
But you’re right, he doesn’t throw well and has no confidence in his throwing.

Tebow
Finishes the preseason with a 88.0 QB rating, compared to a 95.4 for Orton and a 73.1 for Brady Quinn. 2 TD’s 2 INT’s.
Also I think he has moved up to second team ahead of Quinn as that’s where he’s playerd the last to games.
Hardly looks overmatched anyway, which was the big claim of the haters.
With Tebow starting for them, Denver would lose minimum ten games.

And they'll be losing.

Mistake
starting a rookie QB is usually a mistake, starting Tebow would be a huge mistake.
Early lines up
And it’s only Dallas by 3.5 at Washington. Geez. And you people didn’t believe me when I told you how tough this schedule would be. I would have thought we’d merit about 7. But then again, everybody knows it’s all about the changes at offensive coordinator.
Probably because
folks know Jason Garrett is a bad OC.
"Look, we're basically on earth to shit and fuck. So unless your job's to help people shit or fuck, it's not that important, so relax."-https://twitter.com/shitmydadsays
he has his good points
you judge an oc by record and there’s a lot of skins on garrett’s wall.
look at the offensive numbers and stats we put up, and the perception that this offense is “loaded with talent”. Of course there’s no more physical talent in Dallas than any other team, so that’s all on Garrett.
Those are the positives, the negatives are calling dumb plays that dont fit the situation, and serious problems in the red zone. He needs to get a lot better there.
One thing Garrett has always been strong at, always, is he puts multiple receivers in good patterns and gets guys open. So much so that I wish he’d run a more wide open offense. If we threw more we’d be more dangerous.
But the bad side is he shoots himself in the foot with such dumb calls. 2nd and 10? Lets plow into the middle for one yard and set up a drive killing 3rd and 9 every time. Third and one? Lets pass instead of taking the percentage play. That kind of crap.
And I’ve never been fond of his style of running game, which always seems to be based on trickery instead of brute strength.
But remember we were 11-5 last year and it could be a lot worse.
The reason he probably relies on trickery
is because the running game ain’t that great, and with the line beat up, I wouldn’t expect much this year. Barber is completely done, and the offensive line isn’t going to open the holes to pound anything.

I'll take it under advisement
Considering that you dont know anything lol.
Nah, I’m worried about the Cowboys because of the brutal schedule. People dont appreciate how strong the NFC east is going to be. Washington now has two Shanahan’s running things, they’ll be totally revamped, Lord help us if the Giants new DC is any good, and nothing changed in philly except they got probably a better QB they’ll be dangerous as hell as always.
But hey, after a nice preseason win, I’m thinking positive on the Cowboys right now. Beginning the season is always the time for optimism.
Crayton is the new Greg Ellis
The agent for Patrick Crayton will request the Cowboys release his client prior to Saturday’s deadline for final cuts.
Crayton made some big catches for us
I’ll feel a slight twinge on him leaving. He was dependable. I’m surprised we were actually able to get a draft pick for him, that’s great. For his part, going to a good OC with Norv is good for him.
I guess it’s a good move, get younger and faster. I dont care about talent, so I mainly want to see younger and faster out there. As much as talent helps, that will. Maybe one play this year Ogletree will blow by somebody that Crayton wouldn’t, and maybe that helps us win a game.
It’s weird this was a money decision. Seeing how much owners spend, it’s odd how much they care about saving a million here or there, or how much they pay the head coach. But then again, a million dollars is a million dollars.

don’t you find it all embarassing that out of 22 posts, you have at least half of them? You can talk to your cat and get the same effect…

Any thread you post is always a disaster.

Jason Garrett is a definite concern.
In the criminal justice system, the people are represented by two separate yet equally important groups: the police, who investigate crime; and the district attorneys, who prosecute the offenders. These are not their stories,.......
and yet
without him we’ll probably be 4-12. go figure.
ahh, the days of the cowboys 6-10, when nobody ever talked about the offensive coordinator..perhaps Garrett should just guide the team to 6-10, maybe then the fans will stop talking about him.
Cowboys would probably do better
if they got Maurice Carthon back.

The running game would definitely be better.

LOLOLOL
Sure, I suggest the Houston Texans grab Carthon right away. You’re right, the running game down in Houston would be great.
Another place I think Carthon would be a great fit would be New England. I feel they should snatch him up right away.
Oh that’s right, Houston and NE only hires young white offensive coordinators by the dozen, my bad. And they will never ever hire a minority OC.
Remember we got rid of Sean Payton for this guy.

Yeah
He’s so horrible, all the big numbers our offense puts up, the 11-5 we have to suffer through.
The guys a bum. Bring back whoever was OC when we were 6-10. You guys never ever critized him.
BTW, none of you complained about Payton leaving at the time. And if Payton was still here, I’m sure you’d hate him too, since you hate what makes the Cowboys good.
