Awesome. I can't remember the last time we had a league's top prospect.
I am a bit surprised that Mike Olt is ranked fourth, ahead of Skole and Deglan. But I am oh so happy about it. I’ll take it as a good sign that Olt is not on the Tommy Mendonca path. As for Skole and Deglan, I’m surprised and pleased that Deglan is ranked higher. Given how he struggled much more than Skole in Spokane, I’m glad that scouts and coaches see real quality in him. It’s encouraging.
Also glad to see Hoying on the list. Let’s hope he’s legit.
last top prospect
Wait…Martin Perez was top prospect in the Sally League last year…but still. That’s awesome for Profar. He’s the first position player prospect to be ranked #1 in a league by BA since Mark Teixeria in 2002.
WOW
Scout: He was a first-round pick right? Got a huge bonus?
KG: Oh yeah.
Scout: Well, he spent a lot of it on milkshakes.

Wow. I thought he'd be top 5, but I didn't think he'd get the top spot.
Good for him!
Pro baseball has always been a dream, so this is pretty freakin’ cool out here. -- Tim Steggall, undrafted Rangers minor leaguer.
Mike Olt wishes to apologize
to all of the players who he undeservedly got placed in front of. Mike wishes them to remember that this is simply one person’s opinion and that they should continue to strive to be their best and not get discouraged.

So, for those more well equipped to answer this...
When will we see Profar in the Majors? 2014? 2015?
Fuck Arias
2011
Beltre gets injured late in the year and Profar comes up and treads water. In 2012, he goes A-Rod on the league.
He was initially seen as a pitcher, Large Steven
but I think Robbie’s suggesting we sign Adrian Beltre.

So you think we bring him up as a 3B?
See I think we leave him at SS. He wont be ML ready most likely till 2012 at the earliest.
Elvis is a FA after 2014 and if Profar is everything he is touted to be then I think midseason 2013 we could be in a position to trade Elvis and get a monster package back while bringing in a replacement right then.
Surprised that Skole would slot in below Deglan
Also, surprised that Skole is that low. I would think an 18 year old getting on base like he did would have raised more eyebrows.

Did you call the hypothetical hardware store and buy a theoretical chain saw?
My first reaction, too.
Really surprising.

Pretty impressive stuff for sure!
Seriously, this is outstanding, and a vindication of the Rangers’ scouting department, who were roundly questioned during the draft.

I predict
Jurickson will move from shortstop soon… He is going to be a fast mover, but he is blocked right now.
Good to see Skole on that list. Of everyone in the farm system, him and Beltre have me really excited. I love rangy outfielders with plus arms and pop. And by pop, I dont mean they throw a good right hook, although I think Beltre has that one down.

why move a shortstop before it's absolutely necessary?
It would only diminish his value to the organization.
Ok, that's crazy
He can stay at SS for a long time before we worry about him being blocked.
When you're drowning, you don't say 'I would be incredibly pleased if someone would have the foresight to notice me drowning and come and help me,' you just scream.
I thin the point was that he'll be in the majors in one year
He’ll have to move because he’ll be on the ML roster is the idea I think he was presenting.
Uh, nope, that's not it

Does this make you Poland?
If Brad Pitt is playing Beane who do you want playing you?

I'm pictureing Jared Hoying as a Hunter Pence type
I think it was KG that said he was good sized, very athletic kid, but everything he does is ugly.
The Rangers traded their future for 3 months of Cliff Lee. 2011 will be our year!

Didn't AJM doubt the existence of Kellen Deglan in a podcast recently?
Baby Jesus, please fix Josh's ribs.
Yes
he did the same for Josh Garoon.

Your sage opinion on position prospects is, as usual, most welcome
as is the inimitable grace of your writing style and the delicate touch with which you interact with your admiring public. If there hasn’t been a general ardor for your return to BBTIA, there should be.
