He pretty much did say that

by omission. He gave him high praise for club house skills. Then effectively coughed “sucks!” into his hand while talking about in-game management.

there is a very vocal group over at DMNs chat rooms also. Facebook has a pretty large group that think Wash is an idiot.

But even the people that hate him only do so because of his in game decisions

and Ryan’s comments come about as close to “he’s not that good at that part” as you can reasonably expect.

Pretty much on point from Nolan.

I wonder if anybody from the front office paid a visit to Old School Brutha when he was skull-fucking a bunch of games in April & May.

There have been some occasional head-scratching moments since then but not nearly as many as there were earlier in the year.

That doesn't mean he knows what he's doing though.

Nolan might have some good insight about pitchers, given that he was a pretty good one, but beyond that he seems to be stuck in the same stereotypical “old school” mentality that Wash is. And I don’t trust that mentality as far as I can throw it when it comes to really evaluating the game.
