Mark DeRosa

Anybody interested in a trade to have him return back to where he started his success as a MLB player.  He can play all positions really...including OF and hits Lefties pretty good....interest?

Other names to think about:  Dye, Glaus, Sweeney?

How many wins will this team get to this year?  I am excited about the 2011 season...anybody else too?  Pitchers and catchers report in 24 days...woo hoo!!!!  How many innings will Webb pitch this year....wins?

I'd have to be excited about Dye, Glaus, or Sweeney

Well, Glaus could actually be a good fit here

With his history against lefties and his ability to play 1B. Make a good potential platoon partner for Moreland/bench bat and he should be someone who would accept a limited amount of AB’s.

Nothing more and if he gives any crap cut him.

It goes deeper. People take out their frustrations with Josey on their real-life acquaintances, which propagates forward, and before you know it you’ve got more marriages in an easily-smashable state.

center

can he play center field?

He hasn't played CF since 2009 and that was only 5 games.

He played most LF/RF last year for the Pirates. He’s not great in CF, but he could probably pass depending on how much time he was out there.

I think he could be passable there

And he would be flanked by strong defenders. This wouldn’t make a big splash, but I’ve been thinking this would be a good free pickup for a week or so.

As much as he's a prima donnna

I’ve always liked Milledge’s game, and I think he’d be a great addition. He’s not going to blow anyone away with his defense in center, but he’d be a great platoon partner and insurance policy for Borbon

Hard to tell what you’d actually get from him, b/c his delta as a player is pretty huge, but there’s more upside than with a guy like Gentry.

Mike Sweeny was even worse against lefties last year

And has hit righties better during his career

DeRo...

is an interesting name, but only because of his past here. Don’t really think relying on him to come back from that injury would be a smart move for the 6 mil he’s going to be paid this year.

Dye – No.

Glaus – No.

Sweeney – Hell No.

Honestly, at this point, I think I’d probably rather roll with Tracy than any of those guys.

Chad Tracy

You know I wouldn’t be surprised if the Rangers aren’t secretly hoping Tracy comes through and has a good spring with them this year and they can use him in that role. he has experience playing 1B and a COF spot. He hits RH. Hes never going to be a superstar in the majors so having him up here on the bench isn’t likely affecting his ceiling. it would keep Young as everyday DH/UTIL man. And he would provide us with a emergency 3rd catcher.

I'm thinnking something similar...

although as Z pointed out the other day, he’s pretty bad defensively no matter where you put him.

But as a backup option, RH bat off the bench and, and starter at 1B against lefties, I think the Rangers are hoping he’d be fine.

Yeah

And he’d fit into their line of thinking that he isn’t going to demand a everyday role. Plus it will allow you to Dh Hamilton and Cruz more and get Murphy more time because you’d just be sitting Tracy.

what became of last year's ST darling Matt Brown?

I believe he was hurt most of 2010. For which org will he be plying his craft in 2011?
