(Didn't keep score, and box score isn't up yet, but from memory...) Teagarden started behind the plate for the alumni squad, striking out in his first at bat and allowing a steal of second base. Quintanilla batted once, failed to reach, and did not play the field. Exhibition rules (!?!), at least for the alumni side: most everyone batted without necessarily playing or immediately subbing into the field, and college pitchers threw for the alumni (yes, to their own teammates) in the last four or five frames. Brandon Belt was not present. Wealthiest were Drew Stubbs and Huston Street, the latter not seeing action and disappointing many. Best represented organizations: Reds, White Sox and Nationals (three from last year's college roster). A few long outs but no homers: easier to going yard in Arlington than here? I don't gloat about Austin weather, because we've got hell to pay later on, but it's sweet to enjoy baseball in shirtsleeves in January. Any other questions about the game, I'll try to answer.
