Milton Bradley?
I wonder if he's not fixable and possibly a cheap pick-up that could make another OF expendable and thus tradable? I'm not a psychiatrist, but there's clearly something going on his head that is off, but in the back of my mind, I remember, he wasn't that bad when he was a Ranger. Was it something about the team that kept him in line? I didn't follow the Rangers during that period, so I'm curious what those who know have to say.

I think if we were lacking a starting OF
then Texas would consider it, but in reality our 4th OF is better than the average starting COF so I dont think a move would make sense (especially considering it IS Milton Bradley).
That seems right...
I’d take L-Milledge over Bradley if we needed another dude. He’s 25, about the same age as Moreland.
"Every noble work is at first impossible."
He had a mishap here.
He tried to go up to the Royal’s booth and teach their color guy a lesson, I think.
But yes, he was damn impressive playing for us.

Brent Lefevre (sp?) is a douche and deserves to get hit for being a terrible PBP guy.

I definitely don't disagree with ya.
I like Board Game. Just there is no room.

We're pretty set at the DH spot now too, so there's not really any room for him
Before we traded for Napoli, I might have at least considered it, depending on what the details of his latest misdeed.
Loved Bradley when he was here, and feel bad about all the crap that's happened since he left.
But I really don’t see a place for him here.
Didn't he state after the fact he was unwilling to play unless he felt he was 100%
Basically trying to maximize his counting stats so he could try to land a good contract for the following year? Pretty sure he said that.
Hobson, did you see that?
Yes.
She stole that tie! It's the perfect crime. Girls don't wear ties; although some do. It's not a perfect crime, but it's a good crime.
Yes. If she murdered the tie it would be the perfect crime.
You're right
I liked grandpa Milton and his walks, but that did it for me. It always seemed pretty fishy him sitting out of lineups sporadically.
Yes he did.

We kinda solved the whole righty bench bat thing by getting Napoli.

Nein.

Unless you can
pull off some trade for Murphy where we get a tremendous return and basically rape our trading partner, I just don’t see where you get ABs or playing time.

If ever there was a "buy low" opportunity
I’d say Bradley is at rock bottom. And the Mariners are motivated sellers. Assuming he doesn’t spend the next 6 months in L.A. County jail, it might be worth sending to Frisco and hiring the best psychiatrist in town then see what happens. As to who to trade? Who knows? Maybe someone will want Bradley if we get him on track. The more assets we have, the more options we have come the trade deadline.
I have come here to chew bubble gum and kick ass, and I am all out of bubble gum.
Wash and Bradley
were like father and son. That was why things weren’t as bad here.
I feel personally insulted after he flipped off our crowd though, when I was excited for him to be back even as the opposing team. Even looking past him admitting to not giving it all cause the Rangers didn’t commit enough to him at the time..
Milton Bradley is even a worse idea this year
Than it was last year to try and trade for him.

Well
Just trying to think out of the box… If Bradley won’t go to Frisco, then forget it.

Seriously?

He doesn't have many options
No team is going to take him on a roster right now… But I suspect staying out of jail is his top priority.

Board Game
Was simply awesome when he was here. Every at bat was an all out war for him to avoid an out and he had MVP offensive stats to prove it, but then he went crazy. My understanding is that he went to the head doctor who told him he shouldn’t care as much about not getting out and being good at baseball.
I don’t want a well-adjusted Board Game. I would want evil, bad Board Game and that comes with too many problems nowadays.

Bring him on!
Assuming the Mariners would pay a very large part of his salrary.
We’ve been lookin for a right-handed hitting David Murphy. Bradley is better in that he gets walks, is a switch-hitter, hits LHP really well, hits on the road (Young doesnt) and is a decent fielder if his head is on straight!

I don't think he's considered a good fielder

Not so much anymore though.

Anyone watch MLB Network this weekend
to catch their counting down of the 50 greatest arguments/ ejections? Obviously Bradley was prominently featured, his highest ranked meltdown occurring in San Diego resulting in a knee injury.
Pinella, Bradley, Earl Weaver. Some classic ejections among that troika.
Did it have the one with the douchebag that used the rosin bag as a grenade?

Nope.
Only Major League ejections were considered.
You probably could have guessed, but #1 was the George Brett pine tar incident.

i can't remember
was Bradley mailing it in towards the end of ‘08 so that he wouldn’t get hurt and thus score himself a payday?
I think you're thinking of 2009.
Don’t think we where ever that close in the wildcard 2008.
