To all those who are interested, the time is nigh upon us. On Saturday, 11/12/11 Deep Ellum Brewing Co. will be launching at The Common Table in Uptown. We will have our Backslider Blonde Ale and Double Brown Stout on tap. We may also have a few extra kegs of some formulas we’ve been brewing on the pilot system. The party is from 11am to 5pm so we have a wide window for any one of you to come by and enjoy a pint or two.
The Blonde is a hopped-up version of an extra-pale ale. Utilizing the greatness of Amarillo and Palisades hop varieties, it has a great aroma. It comes in at 4.8%alc so it’s a great session beer for an afternoon.
The Double Brown Stout is really an oatmeal stout-baltic porter hybrid brewed with blackstrap molasses and lager yeast. It’s an all-star and comes in at about 7.0%alc. It’s one of Drew’s magical creations.
I’m pretty overwhelmed at the moment, I have a day job that keeps me very busy, and This Thing has consumed the rest of my available time. Well, that and Ranger baseball of course.
I’m pretty pleased that after about two years of planning, begging for money from banks and investors, dealing with untold equipment delays and problems, more begging for money, resisting the urge to punch anyone associated with the SBA, wanting to kick several bankers in the nuts it’s all coming to fruition. Just to give you an idea of how much bearucracy/stupidity we’ve dealt with, we are actually producing and distributing beer before we close our SBA loan. That, my friends, is a minor miracle.
I know its late notice, but please accept my invitation to come out to the The Common Table on Saturday. If you do, please seek me out, I’m Scott and should be there most of the day soaking it all and trying to forget for a day how to keep it all going.
