This Day in LSB History
Five years ago today, we learned that the winning bid for the rights to negotiate with Daisuke Matsuzaka was $51.1 million.
And we were astonished.
That ended up not working out so well for the BoSox.

I actually remember exactly where I was when I saw this report

I was amazed at that amount
but even more amazed when — after Boston just blew away what anyone thought was a reasonable bid — people said that the Rangers just made a token bid but weren’t serious about getting in on Matsuzaka.

What did the Rangers bid? Thought it was mid 20.
Football can go to hell. The Rangers aren't ready for football season and neither am I.
