PrintTwo years ago today, we talked about two significant deals that were going down -- a three way deal where Philly was getting Roy Halladay and sending Cliff Lee to Seattle, and Boston signing free agent pitcher John Lackey to a 5 year, $82.5 million deal.
That's more cheerful reading than reading about what happened a year ago last night.

I disagree. So does Fangraphs, apparently… Chone Figgins last year: 6.1 WAR.
Adrian Beltre last year: 2.4 WAR.
I don’t think the gap is as big as that (WAR is hardly the perfect stat), but I’d much rather have Figgins than Beltre, especially in Seattle where Beltre seemed to hate to hit.

love how JW thought we would just fold. That said it’s still hard for me to think the Rangers are back to back AL Champions. I can’t wait until ST.
