Liverpool’s Luis Suarez found guilty by FA. Fined £40,000 & banned for eight matches. #bbcfootball
Very
But not surprising, considering the FA is a fucking joke.
"Those cocksuckers asking me if I thought we were gonna go up there and try to work his fuckin’ pitch count ‘cause he’s on three fuckin’ days rest…you know what I told those cocksuckers? He pitch ball, ball cross plate, we gonna knock the shit out of it."

LFC statement on Suarez' suspension
Not surprisingly, they’re pretty pissed:

Ridiculous statement.
Not surprising considering the way they’ve acted throughout the process.

How so?
It was Evra’s word against Suarez’s. No video, no audio, no other United players stating they heard Suarez abusing Evra.
I’m trying really hard not to be Asshole Liverpool Fan here, but I just don’t see the justification for the ruling, especially considering Suarez is part black himself.

Because you don't know if any other information was presented in the hearing.
Until the FA releases their full findings, no one knows all the facts.
Regardless, issuing such an inflammatory response to something as serious as a racism charge is beyond stupid. If you want to fight the FA, do it at another time.

Ahem.
He’s lucky it was only 8.
x
When I first read he said “negro” i thought the penalty sounded harsh but given the context you are right he’s lucky he only got 8
“dont touch me south american” ? really who would say that?
"I'm against picketing, but I don't know how to show it." - Mitch Hedberg
x
“Mr Evra denied using the words “South American” when speaking to Mr Suarez. When it was put to him that he had done so, he seemed genuinely bemused. He said to address someone as “South American” in this way is not something he would do. He said “What’s the sense? What’s the point?”. There was no evidence of Mr Evra using this phrase on any other occasions."
Yeah, to try and claim someone would sa that who isn't in 1st grade
Is idiotic
"I'm against picketing, but I don't know how to show it." - Mitch Hedberg
England and the FA have taken great pride in being one of the more progressive footballing nations in Europe as far as racism goes.
Punishment was always going to be severe if he was found guilty.

I don't really have any idea how appropriate
that suspension is, but it does feel extremely harsh. Eight games out of a 38-game season (unless FA Cup is included) is a ton.

After reading a couple articles on the matter this evening
Just have one question: how well does Evra speak Spanish?

Muppetry
Becks to PSG is just about done.
Wayne Bridge might be loaned to Arsenal…..
…
..
..
.
I got nothing.
Short-term loan for Bridge doesn't sound like a terrible thing
At the very least it returns Vermaelen to CB.

And
keeps you from being one step away from having to play Ignasi MIquel or Sebastien Squllaci.

I'm just shocked there would be a full back problem when you were relying on Gibbs
Nobody could’ve seen this coming.
Miquel
I didn’t think Miquel played horrible against City. However, they need reinforcements badly back there. Did Arsene ever explain why he started Santos in that meaningless CL match?
Absurd
Just absurd for criminally prosecuting someone for saying something racist.
wonder if he gets suspended
Scout: He was a first-round pick right? Got a huge bonus?

Don't get your hopes up, Brek
YoungGunsBlog
FC Dallas’ Brek Shea says he hopes Arsenal move in for him after trial spell. Also says Robin van Persie is ‘unbelievable’ in training
I think Villa might have outplayed Arsenal in that half.
Or at least, they didn’t look like shredded dog poop.

Suarez
I’m watching the Chelsea-Spurs match, and Steve McManaman had an interesting story at halftime. He played in a charity match this past weekend which included Hispanic and black players. While in the locker room, several of the Hispanic players (South Americans, like Suarez) used the term which Suarez allegedly called Evra. And that no one reacted to it at all.
"Those cocksuckers asking me if I thought we were gonna go up there and try to work his fuckin’ pitch count ‘cause he’s on three fuckin’ days rest…you know what I told those cocksuckers? He pitch ball, ball cross plate, we gonna knock the shit out of it."
- Wash
I believe so
Given everything I’ve read and heard about the case so far, I think what Suarez likely did was use a term that to a fellow South American, wasn’t offensive, but to Evra, it came off as derogatory. Almost like how African-Americans can call each other the N-word without offense, but it’s a problem if a white person does it.
"Those cocksuckers asking me if I thought we were gonna go up there and try to work his fuckin’ pitch count ‘cause he’s on three fuckin’ days rest…you know what I told those cocksuckers? He pitch ball, ball cross plate, we gonna knock the shit out of it."

From what I've heard/read
The word Suarez allegedly used was “negrito.” I found an article which does a pretty good job of explaining the term:
"Those cocksuckers asking me if I thought we were gonna go up there and try to work his fuckin’ pitch count ‘cause he’s on three fuckin’ days rest…you know what I told those cocksuckers? He pitch ball, ball cross plate, we gonna knock the shit out of it."

FM12- Krasnodar, season two
Since I’m starting season three later tonight, thought I’d post on how season two wound up.
As some may remember, we finished season one (AKA “The Season That Won’t End”) in 4th place, after the media predicted we’d come in 12th, and qualified for the Europa League playoff round. I made a few signings to bolster the squad for season two, most notably Chivas MF Jorge Enriquez, and GK Costel Pantilimon, who Man City chose not to purchase after taking him on loan the first season.
Europa League campaign was OK- got past FC Zurich in the playoff round, then finished second in a group of Palermo, Olympiakos, and Rabotnicki. Unfortunately, the first knockout round was not so kind- an 8-4 aggregate loss to Juventus.
Russian Cup: made it to the final and lost, 1-0, to CSKA.
League: Fluctuated between fourth and eighth until the winter break, and then went on a tear the last two months, holding off CSKA on the final day to finish third, behind Spartak and Anzhi.
Only one new first-team signing for season three- right back Stanislav Manolev from PSV- but I expect to sign another midfielder, as I’ve had a few injuries in pre-season. Scouting, staff, and the youth academy are in much better shape than when I took over- we actually had 4-5 kids come through the academy at season’s end that look like future first-teamers. Hopefully we can build on our success so far, and qualify for the Champions League or win the Russian Cup in season three!

Ramsey
Ramsey better be hurting or just super worn out because of the amount of playing time he’s had throughout this season but fuck, homeboy better get his shit together. This midfield is all sort of average. If they had any sort of play making skill in the midfield they kill Aston Villa and stay even with, or beat Citeh. Also, Coquelin should not be playing right back.
"If they had any sort of play making skill in the midfield they kill Aston Villa"
Awfully arrogant when considering that they scraped to a victory on a late goal from a set piece.
i tell the truth; i lie a lot
I only caught the second half
but villa looked good, arsenal had issues getting through the defenders.

"That’s why I have Christmas Day off – I have to think about that (Henry). Short-term is ideal for us, but I haven’t made any enquiry yet. Thierry is not here at the moment.
"The 1st of January is the vital date for us. We have seven days to make decisions and I will make a decision in the next seven days on players."

True dat
I think I spent about 6 hours playing yesterday. Europa League’s gonna be a bitch this season- got past Hajduk Split in the playoff round (6-4 on aggregate) only to be handed Sevilla, Siena, and Olympiakos in the group stage. Ouch!
"Those cocksuckers asking me if I thought we were gonna go up there and try to work his fuckin’ pitch count ‘cause he’s on three fuckin’ days rest…you know what I told those cocksuckers? He pitch ball, ball cross plate, we gonna knock the shit out of it."

Umm, yeah
Two matches into my Europa campaign, two losses. And the next two are against Sevilla, the top seed in my group. OTOH, things are looking very good domestically. After eight matches, we’re in first place! Still, there’s a lot of season left to play.

Injuries
I started with Arsenal just so I have some base of knowledge. So far, I’ve lost Arsharvin, Walcott, my two big transfers, Mertsecker, Song and Sanga to injury. Kill me.
Yikes
I’ve had a few of those- seems like I’ll get three guys hurt at the same position within a week of each other.
Biggest issue with my club at the moment: trying to figure out how the same defense that has allowed just four goals in eight RPL matches has managed to allow twice as many in only four Europa matches. I suspect it may have something to do with the increased level of competition, or perhaps my center backs just enjoy taking it up the ass from Greek and Croatian strikers.

Hah
One of my transfers was Gourcuff for AM and he got hurt first match for 2 weeks, then while in training he slipped a disc, out 2-3 months. Walcott got hurt while playing for England and Arsharvin got hurt in preseason, both out 3 months. I’ve been running a front 3 of RVP, Gervinho and Chamak. Except RVP likes to pick up yellow cards, missed one game for 2 yellows in the previous game and is one yellow away from a 1 game suspension because of picking up 5 yellows.

Sounds about right.
My new favorite
RVP hurt for 5-6 weeks, gets back to training, hurt 2 weeks, then gets better, called up to nat. team, get hurt 3 weeks. Kill me. Same with Walcott and Arsharvin.

Sid Lowe
For someone other than Real Madrid or Barcelona to win something in Spain. It would be good for everyone – including Real Madrid and Barcelona, who are in danger of eating themselves. Trouble is, if someone else won a trophy, the big two would take that as proof that everything is fine, see? We see and it’s not.

this made me laugh…
Jamie Jackson
Mario Balotelli to be Manchester City captain. At last the Premier League has a character, a figure in the lineage of Eric Cantona and Roy Keane, who were fine captains. Leaders are chosen to send a particular message, so to have the firework enthusiast taking Manchester City into battle would give the title pretenders the final prerequisite of all great teams: personality. It might also calm him down. A little.

Looking at the squad, I think we need another attacking player- either a winger or striker- and a defensive midfielder to fill in until Lucas gets back.
