PrintFive years ago today, I looked at Chris Young's first season in San Diego, and concluded that he was pretty much an average pitcher who put up a gaudy ERA because he was uniquely well suited to take advantage of the Padres' home park and the great outfield defense behind him.
This was back when people were still complaining about Young being in the Adam Eaton trade, rather than focusing on Adrian Gonzalez's inclusion.
And we got a bunch of comments (for the time) on the post -- over 40!

Speaking of former Rangers/current Mets

In January, he will travel to Tanzania and attempt to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest free-standing mountain on Earth. To reach the summit, he will have to ascend to 19,336 feet above sea level, traversing a path that begins in 85-degree heat and ends with the ground covered in snow.
That lack of an ulnar nerve will help him in case the line slips.

Did anyone here know Endy Chavez
signed with Baltimore? It went down the morning after we officially heard the Rangers won the right to Darvish. But I don’t see any mention of it anywhere. I didn’t realize it until I read Newberg’s report from the 26th.
And of course it was with Baltimore…

I was really consumed with Fesitvus this year.
