Happy birthday to Jim Panther, who turns 66 today.
Panther was a righthanded pitcher who appeared in 56 games for the Rangers in their inaugural season in Arlington. He was acquired during spring training in 1972, along with Don Stanhouse, in exchange for Denny McLain.
After his one unsuccessful season in Texas, he was shipped to the Atlanta Braves for Rico Carty.
