Looking for Baseball Writers

I am putting together a website for sports in the DFW area.

It doesn't pay anything and it doesn't cost anything and I'm not looking to get hits on a site and I won't link a site nor am I trying to steal readers from this site.

I am looking for one or two every-day writers concerning the Texas Rangers or even the Frisco Rough Riders and other sports here in the metroplex. The idea is a basic, professional blog not unlike this one here, where you would provide pre and post-game commentary and analysis and when you felt like it, an editorial piece or two and even explain basic fundamentals or deep intricacies of the game whenever you felt like it.

We're not beholden to anyone or anything, any corporation or advertisement partner, or club or organization. We're completely independent so you don't have to worry about someone losing their press pass if you say you don't like the way someone pitches or question Wash's double-steal. But the idea is to be professional and above-board so not a bunch of "he sucks" or "umpires suck," that kind of thing.

Again, it doesn't pay - this is an opportunity for a byline on a professional site written by fans and earning the respect that comes with it and starting on the ground floor.

I'm a hockey guy so I will use Mark Stepneski as an example. Mark started Andrew's Dallas Stars Page. He did pre and post game stuff, press releases, editorials and he was unafraid to tell it like it is - and he did it all professionally. Now he writes for ESPN.

Other hockey sites are occupied by people that refuse to allow anything the least bit critical to be said by anyone in an effort to keep their press passes and free tickets, which is fine for them but boring for the rest of us. You do the math.

I've already contacted a couple of you folks that regularly post here by e-mail but I though maybe an open invitation might do the trick.

If this sounds like something you want to be a part of, let me know either here or click on my e-mail and let me know and with that, I'll go back to reading you guys and hope to hear from a couple of you!
