Feliz hit in shin by liner
"Pitcher Neftali Feliz was hit in the left shin by a line drive off the bat of Craig Gentry during his throwing session Sunday. A preliminary X-ray (a fluoroscope) showed no break in the shin."
So here's my question -- doesn't this demonstrate that Feliz should be the closer, since he'll have less chance of getting hit by line drives the less innings he pitches?
And you're thinking "of course not, you idiot, they should use him where he has the most value." OK, then why do so many people think Hamilton shouldn't be in center field? Isn't that the same logic? If Hamilton has more value in center, play him there. There are walls in the corner outfield positions also.
Let the flames begin....

Your logic is a little flawed...
Though Hamilton would have more value in center he doesnt play there because it is well documented that he is fragile. Feliz on the other hand has little to no history of injury. Just because one decision is made about one player doesnt mean it should be used to justify why another player should or shouldnt play a specific position. Hamilton is injury prone so they need to protect him as much as possible.
See, I don't agree with these statements
it is well documented that he is fragile.
Ummm… can you prove that? Yes, he’s been hurt before, but so have others. I haven’t seen any proof that the same injuries would not have happened in left or right field.
Hamilton is injury prone so they need to protect him as much as possible.
Again, how does playing him in left protect him from injury?

Waaaaa?
Moving Hamilton to left doesn’t mean he’ll play fewer innings. Making Feliz the closer means he will play fewer innings.

I think he is saying this would put Feliz in a situation where his injury risk would be lower

And the risk of injury to Feliz probably would be higher.
It’s his connecting of two different situations that’s hilariously awful.
By that logic, we need to make Colby and CJ relievers too then.

You chose someone else's fake name as your fake name.
It’s Garoonic—and there’s yet another fake name.

I think he should only make appearances in the playoffs

While we're overreacting
Let’s DFA Craig Gentry. How dare he do that to Feliz!?

What if every pitcher only pitched one inning per game...
Same rotation of 9 per game….

This is like a bonus T.R. Sullivan inbox.
The real problem is that Neftali Feliz is participating in these “throwing sessions” in the first place. Save that throwing for the 9th inning of 5-run games, buddy!

I’m willing to give you a mulligan on this one since you’ve probably had a little more time to think about it now.
