Bonds Guilty of Obstruction of Justice
I must say I am surprised. It was a swearing match between everyone involved, and "beyond a reasonable doubt" is a lofty standard. That said, screw Barry Bonds. If I had to guess, I'd guess he took steroids. If he did, I'd guess he knew what he was taking. If that's true, then he lied about it under oath. Wait, what is the obstruction of justice charge stemming from again? Oh well. Guilty!
Interestingly, a mistrial was declared for all the other charges. I wasn't sure they could bifurcate mistrials like that, but I'm not a criminal lawyer, and certainly not one in California.

Guilty of one charge, the others were all mistrials. The Defense moved to have the one guilty verdict thrown out; not sure if that is something likely or not likely to be granted. He was not cleared of any charges.
No

too many women on the jury
that’s the issue you ask me. that and them glue sniffers.
end this, bonds is innocent….
Fucking jury is a bunch of idiots
If they can’t decide whether he took steroids or not. I mean the evidence and the witnesses pretty much proved that, so I don’t see how they can’t decide if he lied under oath. What a bunch of fucking idiots. Only in California.

Pretty damn big difference
And that goes to the heart of the matter. It wasn’t whether he used steroids but whether the Feds proved he lied about knowingly taking them.
I thought I read somewhere the parties stipulated to the mistrial. Weird. Gotta be more to that if that’s true; i.e. there’s no reason for one party or the other to agree to that so someone got something out of the deal.
Hobson, did you see that?
Yes.
She stole that tie! It's the perfect crime. Girls don't wear ties; although some do. It's not a perfect crime, but it's a good crime.
Yes. If she murdered the tie it would be the perfect crime.
re: 'only in California"
You know, as a Texan who lived in California, I used to hear highly negative generalizations like that about us all the time. It was extremely annoying, and of course, it wasn’t true, either.
I assure you the reverse isn’t the case either. The state is not overwhelmingly comprised of blithering, rad lingo-spewing, commie-sympathizing dullards, just like we all don’t play doo-whack-a-doo twangytwang music at the hootenannies where we go steer ropin and a’cousin kissin.
Personally, I think it would be nice if this 50 year old super bowl of Texas-Cali caricatures could just die the natural death it has long had coming. Prolly just my own peeve, I dunno. But neither side has the high ground here.

Somehow if I had to guess...
….I’d say there’s a shot at the judge throwing out the one guilty verdict as well and just starting fresh with all charges.
It's a little heavy on the race card
I think race is a tiny factor, but the fact that he’s the home run king & a giant jerk is the bigger reason.
He's guilty as shit...
but who cares, the government/law should have more important things to do than this.

Fuck the feds
I can’t stand Barry Bonds. But what a colossal waste of time and money.
How’s about you concentrate on violent criminals and terrorists and their ilk, instead of dumbass, victimless crimes?
Yuck.

How about...
they work on getting a balanced budget amendment, debt reduction, and figuring out how to fuck over OPEC, while they’re at it too!!!

Well, yeah, that would be cool, obviously
Although those wouldn’t be my personal top priorities.
But I’m just talking about the prosecutors in this instance.

Someone either shoot me or Barry Bonds so this can all end.
Preferably the latter.
