Grant: Rangers to call up Ryan Tucker
According to Evan Grant, a source is saying that the Texas Rangers will continue the revolving door in their bullpen today, with Ryan Tucker to be called up from AAA Round Rock.
Tucker is a righthanded pitcher claimed off of waivers from the Florida Marlins last October, in a move that required the Rangers to designate Rich Harden for assignment to clear room for Tucker on the 40 man roster.
Tucker was later waived by the Rangers, cleared waivers, and was outrighted, so he is not on the 40 man roster, and a move will have to be made to clear a 40 man roster space for him.
The speculation is that Darren O'Day, who has been troubled by a hip injury, will go to the 15 day disabled list to clear a space on the 25 man roster for Tucker.

O'Day says he feels fine
Darren O’Day (left hip) has told the coaching staff that he is healthy and ready to pitch in games after no throwing since Wednesday. Washington said that he was going to consult with pitching coach Mike Maddux to determine the next step for O’Day.
Might Tatemaya be jettisoned from the 40 to make room for Tucker?
Font or Webb to the 60 is the likely move to make room for him on the 40
But if ODay doesnt go on the DL I wonder what the move for the 25 man roster would be
Maybe we have traded Bush to someone
Running Tateyama through waivers makes sense to me.

don't mean that as an indictment of Tucker, necessarily
but the fact that he hasn’t really been talked about by the team, media, or anyone, really, gives me pause.

No one really talked about Eppley either

I was thinking
that the pen would be a major strength coming into the season with the rotation struggling at #3-5. I guess that’s why the games are played.
Well...
Before Hunter got hurt….
Those aging lefties were pretty damn good last year. As was O’Day. Ogando and Feliz at the back… Lowe with a power arm.
5 pretty salty guys and another in Lowe who throws hard.
The aging lefties have been pretty good this year too.

Should we refer to this possible O'Day health issue as a hip injury or a "hip injury"?

Well, I had a response in mind but my finger mistyped his last name and now I will always think of him as "Ruth".
Promote Mike Olt to Round Rock!
