Neftali Feliz & Low Leverage Situations
Not to re-open a tired argument, but to me Wash's misuse of Happy is up there on the list of reasons to be upset that he's not starting.

I don't know why anyone would expect anything different, realistically
Want, yeah, but not expect.

Did you call the hypothetical hardware store and buy a theoretical chain saw?
even yesterday's save
coming in a 1-run game may be considered high leverage, but I’d wager that almost any of our relievers could get through the Mariners 7-8-9 hitters without giving up a run. That’s not exactly the most high leverage either.
A baseball game is simply a nervous breakdown divided into nine innings.
So even when Wash uses him in a one run save situation
he doesn’t get credit for it being a high leverage situation because it was a crappy offense?

I didn't say it wasn't considered high leverage
but the Mariners 7-8-9 is probably the worst or definitely one of the worst in the league, so yeah it’s not exactly the most high leverage situation

You allow a baserunner though, and you're facing Ichiro and the top of the order.
Still high leverage.
It all starts with a lullaby...

Low Leverage....
Wins are not low leverage. His first two appearances were against the designated/prognosticated best team in baseball. So while they were not save situations, they were against a very potentially powerful lineup. If you want them to extend Feliz, they will get him a lot of work, even if it is in non-save situations. And right now Feliz appears to be the most reliable option in the bullpen.
Now if you are evaluating pitching, the starters have looked better than the bullpen. Bush has not appeared, thankfully. Tobin has been iffy. Lowe has been meh at best. Rhoades and Oliver have given up some big hits, but nothing disastrous. O’Dey has been surprisingly sharp compared to spring training. Strop looks good, but is very inexperienced. The Rangers are 6-0. You really don’t need to hate the Wash!
