Man tomorrow is a huge day for pitchers

Amusing: 1st pitch in 1st real game for newly Ranger-affiliated Round Rock Express will be thrown by Thomas Diamond & caught by Max Ramirez.

Poetic?

By 2028, Mark Teixeira will be in the HOF.

yay, should be a pretty interesting lineup to watch

Probably the most interesting lineup of any of our affiliates prospects wise.

I’m looking at FBM3’s chart, he got 8 whiffs on the heater and 2 on the change. The fact that he’s getting swings and misses on the change has to be encouraging even if the slider wasn’t there.

Brigham gets pissed, throws a couple a 97 heaters and strikes out next 2 on breaking balls with 4 SM on the pitch during those 2 sequences. Brigham hasn’t ditched his CB but the slider is now his 2nd pitch to be sure. Only one changeup early on, SM I think. Listening to the away feed.

Chris Davis and his 3 HR's

I went to the game, it was a very windy night. The Iowa Cubs RF lost 3 balls in the wind alone, he looked like a little leaguer out there. The entire game was nuts.However. Davis was very impressive. He hit one HR to Left, crushed one to dead center, and one to Right-Center. His defense was great also.

So for anyone who

“bought mlb.tv” I believe I have a code that works for the discount for milb.tv from $30 to $10. They do not make it easy to obtain.

by Brett Perryman on Apr 9, 2011 9:28 PM CDT reply actions

So...

the discount is for mlb.tv or milb.tv?

Or is it for mlb.tv subscribers who then want milb.tv?

Go Strangers.

by hightowersmith on Apr 9, 2011 10:04 PM CDT up reply actions

Yeah, the latter

The promotion is apparently designed for people who buy them together. But that obviously rips off the people who were too lazy to take their mlb.tv account off of auto-renew. So they’ll let all mlb.tv subscribers get that price…if you have the stomach to endure their customer service. All of their mlb.com reps have been told that you have to cancel mlb.tv and repurchase both together. That’s false, but good luck finding someone who will admit it.

by Brett Perryman on Apr 9, 2011 10:49 PM CDT up reply actions

Yeah, I was wondering why I got the email for the promo...

Totally forgot about buying the discounted mlb.tv last September. So I just discovered that I purchased mlb.tv. I did go ahead get milb.tv for 10 bucks, because why not? It’ll pay off to see Martin.

by octoberty on Apr 10, 2011 10:23 AM CDT up reply actions

See this?

From Jeff Wilson today:

The Rangers remain on course to sign Cuban center fielder Leonys Martin, who defected last year. The major-league deal could be finalized this week, and Martin would likely head to Double A Frisco.

Beltre, Olt and Martin would be good to watch at some point this season.

by Brett Perryman on Apr 9, 2011 11:41 PM CDT reply actions

We are figuring out how to fit him on the 40 man roster and will have that decision in a few days

I'm curious what will happen with Beltre and Martin in the same place.

Would they move Beltre to a corner?

Serious major league strength, but the swing will struggle to translate against superior pitching. He’s a good candidate to become a 4A power hitter, but that’s probably the ceiling.
