6/1 OT Thread

Well that was a shitty night. I'm restless, so I'm creating it now.

Since we had shenanigans with the last thread, I'm actually going to do a random Wiki instead of complain about the Mavs and the bullpen.

...well, it was meant to be random but it's about as un-random as one could get. So here's a question related to the article: do Oasis count as disappointments? Do the Strokes count? What other things in pop culture would you people say started off brilliantly then tailed into a steady stream of disappointing mediocrity way too early?

(What's the Story) Morning Glory? is the second studio album by the English rock band Oasis. It was released on 2 October 1995 through Creation Records. The album was Oasis' most enduring commercial success, charting at number one in the UK (staying there for 10 weeks) and number four in the U.S. The album sold 346,000 copies in its first week in the UK[1] and has sold approximately 14 million copies worldwide,[2] although several sources estimate that it has sold in excess of 20 million.[3][4] It is the third biggest-selling album in UK chart history (with 4.4 million copies sold), behind Queen's Greatest Hits and The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band respectively.[5] It was the second biggest selling album for both 1995 and 1996 in the UK and went on to become the biggest selling album of the decade. The album has gone 4× platinum (3.9 million copies) in the United States.[6][7]
