Two trade ideas that interest me
I know, I know, somebody will break out there calcuator and go all WAR on me, but hear me out, I'm talking about guys who've put up great numbers for MANY years, but who've sucked the last few months. These are both BUY LOW guys who might pay off big. I'm talking about giving up prospects that may never blossom.
And first off, NO... I'm not talking about taking on their huge salaries. I'm talking, "maybe they'll take a non-top-tier prospect or two and eat his salary" kind of trade. For the two teams/players I'm talking about, seeing how NOBODY (anymore at least) is dumb enough to take on their massive salaries, the player is now simply a commodity to their respective GMs. Which means, you can either: (A) get some prospects for him and get rid of the constant reminder of how stupid you were, or (B) run him out there on the field everyday, get bad results, and be constant reminder of how stupid you were.
Without further ado... Vernon Wells or Alex Rios...
Granted, this year they are screwing the pooch big time so please, no WAR-related BS using 3 months worth of stats. They are two players that just last year, and career wise, have had from solid to FANTASTIC years. They're not that old, and maybe a change of scenery where they don't have the pressure of those huge contracts in the fans mind can flip a switch and they revert back to the players they were till just this year.
Alex Rios is terrible THIS YEAR, but he is in his late 20s and had 21 homers and 34 steals last year and has a good glove. That pretty much says it all.
Wells is early 30s, so we've probably seen his best, but if he reverts back to what he should be for his age, you're looking at a VERY GOOD OF with the glove and the bat. The Dude hit 31 homers last year.
A change of scenery, fans who aren't pissed about how much the team is paying for them... The lowered pressure and the fun of being on a contending team surrounded by great hitters, they could get hot again and carry us to a WS.

Halo's Heaven?
It goes deeper. People take out their frustrations with Josey on their real-life acquaintances, which propagates forward, and before you know it you’ve got more marriages in an easily-smashable state.-Closure GT on 12/14/2010 9:48 AM
Josh Hamilton: "I just show up, look at the lineup and play where I’m told. If they want me to catch, I’ll catch."
Nah, too much thought put into this post for HH

You are the worst.
And I don’t need any dumb stats to tell me that.

So apparently "no WAR-related BS using 3 months worth of stats" is translation for "don't tell me how bad these guys suck

Josh Hamilton: "I just show up, look at the lineup and play where I’m told. If they want me to catch, I’ll catch."
So, if these guys are so talented and capable of "returning to form" at the drop of a hat
Why the fuck are the Angels and White Sox going to just dump them for peanuts and eat their salary? If they’re still worthwhile talents, dumping them for a “non-top tier prospect or two” and paying the majority of their salary to play for someone else makes them look even more incredibly stupid, not less.
I’m assuming you’re just proposing this to get people riled up with Vernon Wells name, but you could’ve at least worked a little harder to come up with a scenario that made sense.

The fuck are we going to do...
with more outfielders? Can Alex Rios play a credible center field? We’ve already got an outfielder who can’t play a credible centerfield and is hitting like shit so far this season and his name is David Murphy.

Meh, the quality of this Fanpost isn't up to the level of Jun Pierre.
In fact, no Fanpost ever created will be up to the standard set by that post.
i tell the truth; i lie a lot
Looking back, I actually think the Jun Pierre post itself might've been sincere, and that's what made it.
Everything since then has been a bit though, and it hasn’t been a good one.

Why don't we trade for...

I just noticed the worst part of this post
Not only does he want to trade for giant bags of shit, he wants to avoid paying them by giving up useful prospects. Why would anyone give up anything of value for Vernon Wells or Alexi Rios right now?
