Screw the NFLPA
According to an article I just read the players are dragging their feet to get more concessions.
Up until recently, it seemed to me like the owners were the bad guys, asking for draconian concessions from the players.
In the last couple weeks it's swung the other way though, it seems like the players are getting everything they want and the owners nothing. The salary cap will only be a little lower than 2009 in dollars, but it seems to me like the owners will be paying more when you factor in all the increases to retired players and the like.
The way I look at it right now, the players know canceling preseason games will cost the owners big $. So they're greedily hanging that over the owners heads.
But I think if you start canceling major blocks of games, forget it. The owners rightfully will probably dig in at that point. The damage will be done. As long as the owners are already in Armageddon, might as well get a good deal out of it, will be their thinking.
The players are playing a dangerous game and better stop it. They have a good deal, sign it.
Ehh, I have a feeling this will all get resolved in very short order by Friday, they've come too far to let a deal crumble, but anyway.

The way I understand it
This is the first time the actual player reps are seeing the documents for the first time (heard it on ESPN this am and read it here on si.com. Currently they are wanting to go thru the document line by line to see what they game up for the 3-4% reductions because this was done so far by lawyers. I have no problem with them taking 24-48 hours to try and understand a legal docuement that is 100s of pages long to make sure they are getting a good deal. (They would be stupid not to.)
I do absolutely believe that Vincent Jackson is seeking special concessions because he is always been a pre-madana and I dont know why the rest of the 9 in the lawsuit allowed him in anyways. The rest (except maybe Mankins) are all team first guys that want the best for the players as a whole. I would love for them to give him free agency but no team offer him more than he makes now as payback for trying to highjack the whole process for his personal gain.
[headslap] Doh!!!
it had been so long since he posted I gorgot who we was
