Trade Rumors thread
Let's use one thread to dump any rumors about the Rangers in this thread until the deadline gets here. Here are just a few that we have found today.

AL exec: said: #Astros asked big return on Wandy Rodriguez few weeks back, “will take little at deadline to get rid of most of his contract”

strong belief now best beltran offer may come from #rangers. 1 hangup: he prefers nl. atl, sf, milw still in, #tradedeadline
Feeling from execs is #Rockies want to find trade for Jimenez #Yankees, #Redsox #Reds calling. Surprise is #Bluejays kicked tires (cont)
#Mets talking 2- and 3-prospect deals with #Rangers #Redsox #Giants,#Braves #Phillies and, yes, #Brewers keep calling, too
DKnobler DKnoblerI hear scout section should be full when Bedard comes off DL to start for M's Friday. M's would move him. "Would take a lot" to deal Fister. And just because I thought it was funny.
Kenny_Mossman Kenny Mossman by leilarahimi Stoops asked how he maintains relations with TX hs coaches. "Well, we're going to put them all on television, give 'em their own shows."

Part of package for Pence perhaps?
"We are no longer a ride at Six Flags, we are in contention to do some things that will make our lives complete. I have been waiting for this for a long time." - Chuck Morgan
I would argue that Brown has more value than Pence at the present
He’s a 23 year-old future all-star masher under team control for a long time. Brown for Pence would be a major head scratcher.
Yep.
Refuse to believe it.

I don't get it either.

Nahh
It’s for Jiminez…Why? Then they can run out whatever offense they want.
Formerly Rangers121032
We want...#1 Josh #2 Barnet #10000000 Rhadigan
I hope to say the same thing after the deadline!

I'm predicting an all green thread by Saturday
after JD gets done with things…

Yes, but
that is a valid question. I don’t know where he’d play in NY, but Matt Gamel is still a hitter. Same goes for Taylor Green with Wright there. Peralta is having a good year in AA, and they’ve had a couple of little breakthroughs. I’d almost like to see it just so that Doug Melvin would completely clean out his organization for a one-year run in which he misses the playoffs or goes out in four games.

Gomes get traded to Washington for two minor leaguers.

so I guess
they’re not trading Yonder.

Question
While Borbon’s value is not as high as it was pre-injury, doesn’t he still sweeten a trade proposal?
Sure. About as good as a packet of sweet&low in a 5 gallon container of tea.

I've always been confused by that
If the recovery rate is as high as I suspect ankle injuries to be, and doctors think he’ll start next season no problem, why would his value be close to nothing?
Me too
It’s not like he’s taking up a spot on the 40. How is he any different than someone in AAA that’s not quite ready?
Hobson, did you see that?
Yes.
She stole that tie! It's the perfect crime. Girls don't wear ties; although some do. It's not a perfect crime, but it's a good crime.
Yes. If she murdered the tie it would be the perfect crime.
Well, I would assume that once the "injury" tag gets put on someone, it lowers their value some
Especially an ankle/knee problem for a speedster, or an elbow/rotator cuff for a pitcher.

Yes, he does.
Depends on team, both in need and how they scout him.

my guess is if some team wanted Borbon before he got injured
odds are they don’t want him much less now. Maybe they’d want a bonus Carlos Melo or something thrown in for the injury.
But heck, given how Borbon was playing, maybe him getting injured preserved his value more than actually playing would have…
Go Rice Owls!
Would be a Matt Harrison fan, but I only like superstars
Which NL Central team makes he first move?
Which one panics and over pays for…. Rhodes?

There is no team in the MLB
who would take Rhodes off the Rangers hands. None.

Think so?
How does next year’s money factor into that?

Just heard on espn mike and mike that Buster Olney is reporting Mets making progress..
With Rangers and Giants for Beltran.
Yeah, there's also something on on the ESPN website saying the same.
If we lose Beltran to the Giants, I’m going to have to choke a fellow

So Edwin Jackson is going to TOR for Frasor +?
And apparently Danks is on the market?

On that note...
10:09am: Joel Sherman of the New York Post tweets that this deal is close but not complete, because the money exchange requires approval and the Jays are trying to spin Jackson to another team. That team may be the Cardinals, based on tweets from Joe Strauss, Jon Heyman, and Sherman. Sherman believes the Cardinals could also get a reliever and Colby Rasmus may be involved, but nothing is official.
Ninja-ing.
