LOL

Allow me to remind you of some worse ones.

2000 71-91. 974 runs allowed.
1988 70-91 6th place out of 7. 637 runs scored.
1985 62-99, 7th place out of 7. -168 run differential. Bobby Valentine replaces Doug Rader.
1977 despite going 94-68 and finishing second, the team goes through 4 managers as Eddie Stanky quits after his first game.
From 1973 to 1978 the team had 9 managers.

4.Our best defensive measure right now is UZR (Ultimate Zone Rating), which gets prorated to UZR/150 to measure someone’s ratings over 150 games. Youk is on pace for -10.6 UZR/150, which ranks him 23rd out of 25 third basemen who played at least 400 innings. This is a fancy way of saying that he’s not so good there. Following Beltre (17.2 UZR/150) with Youk at third was like Breaking Bad replacing Bryan Cranston with Jimmy Smits.

and just when i start trying to like you bill
Beckett has pitched like a true ace in 2011, which brings me to my biggest complaint about advanced metrics: They don’t measure the impact of specific starts, such as Beckett’s April 10 gem against the Yankees (8 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 10 K) when the Sox were reeling, or the other two Yankee starts (both wins, which was huge because last season it felt like the Yanks just had his number), or his one-hit complete game shutout in Tampa on June 15 (coming off a 4-0 loss to start the series the night before).

THERE ARE NOT ANY STATS THAT MEASURE THE IMPACT OF SPECIFIC STARTS, DO YOU THINK ERA, WINS, LOSSES, ETC DO THIS?

There's more synergy between those processes in MyEclipse

What I don’t like is when I change a method signature, the hot deployment fails. JRebel takes care of all of that. Previously, it was only for normal Eclipse, but jury rigged it into working with MyEclipse. I’m curious what the specific release version is like though

yeah, when I remember I just start uploading before I leave for work

and let it go all day. Still can’t figure out how to only upload certain songs. Of course, I haven’t spent a ton of time with it. I have an iphone, so I won’t use the mobile. Really wanted it to listen to my stuff at work without having to use my phone. For that, I do think it will work out okay.

For me

I told it to sync with ITunes and it uploaded everything I’d rated as four or five star. Which is completely fine.

But I admit I can have tunnel vision when it comes to music. I listen to what I like and have to be pushed into checking out something new. I think because I already have so much music in rotation, I believe I don’t need any more. But then I go check out something new, and more often than not, it slides in too. With less trouble than I might have imagined.

So the FAA is currently in a partial shutdown thanks to Congress

and it doesn’t look like it’ll end very soon. Meanwhile, the government can’t collect the taxes they put on each ticket. Almost every airline has simply raised prices so that passengers are paying exactly what they were before the shutdown and keeping the extra money. Congress is angry about this, but I’m not really sure what they expect the airlines to do…

Posted this in the other thread too. Not sure best place.

Last night before Jason Kubel’s based loaded double the broadcast showed his career stats with bases loaded. It was something like .400 with 7 grand slams. Obviously very good and impressive numbers. Not shown but important to the following story/question is that he has ~70 career PA with the bases loaded.

I live in Minnesota and was with a bunch of Twins fans. They responded with "Kubel is a great hitter with the bases loaded". My response was "Small Sample Size. Kubel has definitely hit well in the past with the bases loaded but there isn’t nearly enough data to say ‘he is a great hitter with the bases loaded’. I also mentioned that most hitters hit better in that situation because they see better pitches to hit and they are likely facing a pitcher that is fatigued or not pitching well.

Everyone in the room thought I was crazy and wouldn’t take my argument. Here’s my question. Am I wrong about this? Was I forming my argument incorrectly? Is it a lost cause and I shouldn’t bother? What do you think?

Near Campus:
Ruby’s BBQ – W 29th & Guadalupe (NOT ruDy’s, but RUBY’s)
Trudy’s – W. 30th & Guadalup (Fried Stuffed Avocado FTW!)
Torchy’s Tacos – 28th & Guadalupe

Elsewhere:
Franklin BBQ – 11th & 35
Live Oak BBQ – East 2nd St.
Maudies Tex Mex – Multiple locations
Cisco’s Mexican Bakery (for breakfast) – East 6th. Juan in a MIllion is overrated IMO. Cisco’s is where it’s at.

There’s also a great sandwich place near campus at 30th & Speedway called Fricano’s, and a great burger at the Crown & Anchor.

I get the Chicken Gyro platter.

Comes with rice, choice of soup or salad (I get lentil soup), and a thing of greek yogurt for dressing, which is absolutely fantastic. I usually hate yogurt too, but it’s got enough zest to where it’s perfect. It’s about 7 bucks for lunch, if you get water.

They’re open 11-3:30, and then 5-9.
