Chris Davis to the disabled list
Corner infielder Chris Davis, acquired by the Baltimore Orioles along with pitcher Tommy Hunter at the trade deadline in exchange for reliever Koji Uehara, has been placed on the disabled list with a tear in his right shoulder that is expected to sideline him for the rest of the season.
Davis was expected to be the Orioles' everyday first baseman for the rest of the season, with Baltimore hoping that regular playing time in the majors would allow Davis to translate his Herculean AAA numbers into success at the major league level.
The injury is particularly inopportune as Davis is out of options after the 2011 season, and Baltimore will be forced to decide whether to keep him on the 25 man roster all season for 2012, or expose him to waivers.

When did the tear happen?
If I had a gun to my head and had to pick one pitcher to pitch a game to save my life.... I'd pick 1999 Rick Helling.

What do we call all those opportunities to play at the big league level with the Rangers?

CD had an OPS+ of 56 in 10 games with Baltimore.
14 strikeouts and 1 walk in 41 plate appearances.
How the hell does he DO that? How is it that absolutely nothing can translate from the minors to the majors?
bummer
the last thing he needs is some bad-luck in terms of injuries, b/c he needs everything else to be perfect to stick in the big leagues.
