Shocker of the year

So it comes as no surprise that the DMN points out that the Cowboys first team defense allowed 30 points and 489 yards on only 10 possessions, just to show how bad the Cowboys defense is. Some will even go so far as to gleefully point out that while the Cowboys are ranked 23rd in the league with 346 yards allowed per game, the Texans are ranked number one with almost a hundred yards less.

I'm so shocked the Texans defense is going to be massively better this year with a new coordinator! It's because they have such a great GM who drafted all that talent instead of Jerry! That defensive talent was just invisible in 2010 though and it was the worst defense in football somehow, but pay no attention to the man behind the curtain. NFL is all about drafting just like we said.

Seriously though of course I despise them but I'm guessing something like 12-4 for the Texans this year solely because now they have a DC. The offense was always there. Hope I'm wrong.

It's just tough being right all the time about football. Next thing you know, St Louis will be really good this year cause they got McDaniels, who could have predicted that???????????????!!!

Yeah

Texans defense WONT be much better this year.

That’s just crazy talk.

Oh wait it actually will, and it’s all very predictable.

Although once again I must preface all my comments here with “Hope I’m wrong” because I hate the Texans and DJCahill.

Okay, a simple "wrong" would've done just fine.

I know, that's why I put a movie quote there. It gets the point that everybody is thinking across...

And I don’t have to waste a sarcastic original thought as to how stupid this post is and how much it lacks any substance whatsoever.

There isn't even a need to call it stupid.

Whats your point?

This is one of the stupider points I’ve seen raised. You can’t possibly look at how poor the Cowboys were run from a man management perspective and how poor the defense was and think that Wade should’ve stated.

What

Is a man management perspective?

Wade had a lot of good years, until the last disastrous one (really, about 8 games). That total meltdown rather befuddles me.

I’m glad Wade is gone and Garrett is here now. I’m just saying, Wade will probably improve Houston’s defense a lot. Which will just prove again that I’m right and LSB is wrong about the coordinators vs players thing.

Not that that needed any more proving, but hey.

Well

He has a 96.7 QB rating in the preseason. 65% completion. Has also rushed for 47 yards. No interceptions. Seems pretty good.

Is that what you were asking?

Media bias

I like how last year in 3 games Tebow had a 82 QB rating, Kolb had a 76, and Kolb’s is 73 for his career with like, 5000 times more talent in Philly.

And according to the media, Kolb is a franchise player, worth a first round pick and Tebow is the worst QB of all time.

You can apply similar comparison to VY or any other QB the media hates, they’re all vastly better than Kolb.

I think we should also talk about how racism is OK as long as you’re dealing with black QB’s the medias hates. It’s always said how Terrelle Pryor, VY etc dont have the mental capacity to be good QB’s, or they’re stupid and cant play QB because of that, more or less, etc. Just blatantly said basically that they’re stupid, constantly. There’s almost no exceptions when it comes to black QB’s and the media, they’re always mentally questioned.

I dont know anywhere else on earth you can get away with calling a black person unintelligent in the media, really. Let alone as a matter of course.

Just sayin.

LOL

Noticed Jean Jacque Taylor is with ESPN Dallas now, along with about 50 other ex DMNers. Guess DMN isn’t long for this world?

Anyways, he writes: http://espn.go.com/dallas/nfl/story/_/id/6911544/dallas-cowboys-jason-garrett-brings-accountability-club

That Jason Garrett is finally a “real” head coach for the Cowboys.

IRVING, Texas — These days, a real head coach roams the halls at the Dallas Cowboys’ Valley Ranch training complex.

It’s been a while.

Jimmy Johnson and Bill Parcells had been the only real head coaches in the Jerry Jones era.

You can add Jason Garrett to the list.

Unless the Cowboys go 6-10, then he’ll be back to being another Jerry puppet.

by Sharky on Sep 1, 2011 4:15 AM CDT reply actions

Err

Garrett was just as effective last year as head coach/OC seemingly, I dont see a problem. Garrett will remain what he is, a good if flawed OC. The key to the Cowboys will be Rob Ryan/defense…

Just looking at him on the sidelines, I’m pleased with Ryan, he seems pretty active and engaged, maybe not as fat as I thought (lulz). Time will tell though but I’m hopeful all around. I think if the defense even improves from awful to average we’ll be 10-6.

Breakout OC…uhh, I dont know who the good OC’s are till they perform.

Breakout stuff to watch is obviously McDaniels in St, Louis, they’ll probably be really good but I think most people already caught on to that, and Phillips in Houston.

I really need to brush up on what OC’s and DC’s are where this season, see if I can identify any other teams likely to show major improvements.

Sadly I worry a lot about Washington with the Shanahan’s getting it together too. They worry me.
