This Day in LSB History
Four years ago today, I looked at a Rob Neyer article talking about how the Minnesota Twins should trade Johan Santana, and used it as a jumping-off point to compare the return the Rangers got for trading Mark Teixeira to the return the Cleveland Indians got for trading Bartolo Colon.

Adam, Adam, Adam
Elvis Andrus, meanwhile, was ranked #65 on the BA top 100 list coming into this year, posting a .244/.330/.335 line in high-A pre-trade and a .300/.369/.373 line in high-A post trade. He’ll probably crack the BA top 100 this offseason, although lower than #65, I’m guessing.
Back to our argument about where Elvis ranked at the time of the trade, this suggests that the 2007 Adam Morris didn’t agree with your recent contention that Elvis was a top 25 or so prospect in baseball at the time of the deal…

Would be a Matt Harrison fan, but I only like superstars
It is fascinating to see Feliz discussed as an afterthought
and Matt Harrison compared to Cliff Lee…
Go Rice Owls!
Would be a Matt Harrison fan, but I only like superstars
Cliff Lee 2005: 4fWAR (3.79FIP)
Matt Harrison 2011: 3.3fWAR so far (3.65 FIP)
And Matt’s a year younger!
this may be the happiest I've ever been after reading a post here.

Cliff Lee in 2007 had 6.29 ERA in 12 starts and 4 relief outings
At that point, he had a career 4.64 ERA and looked more like a decent mid-rotation guy who looked completely lost that year.
"In fact, most of these free-swinging Padres couldn’t hit Dock’s funky palm ball. I threw it often. But by then, also, the first acid distractions entered: the TV flickered; the cracks in the wall started to move; the hand soap started to breathe — those sorts of things. Plus I was drawn to the outdoor garden between innings. Rain was near, I sensed." - A.J. Daulerio
No offense
But, I can’t stand when people point towards the bad part of an ace’s career to make a point.
No offense
But 2007 is when AJM wrote the blogpost linked to above and compared Cliff Lee to Matt Harrison, so it makes the most sense to reference that year when having a discussion about the difference between how the 2 were viewed then versus how they are now.
