Thank You
As I told my group today, 2,946,949 just doesn't happen. It takes a lot of hard work and wins by the ballclub. It takes school teachers and students working as parking attendants, ushers, ticket takers and concession workers. It takes a good promotion schedule, it takes a good presentation at the ballpark. it takes a good ownership group. But the hard work of a bunch of the best players to ever wear a Rangers uniform is the most important.
And 2,946,949 doesn't happen without another group. And that is all of you. To steal a line from Reckless Kelly, from April to October is a long, long road. It takes real commitment to be a baseball fan. It is a long season. But in my opinion, there is nothing better than being a Rangers Baseball fan.
And as I said yesterday, all of you supported this team through one of the hottest summers ever, night after night. We couldn't have done it without you. Thank you.
Chuck Morgan
PS I want to thank all of you that post here, whether its game posts or other threads, I really enjoy reading all of your comments and together this year we were able to add the Cruz Walk Off Bobblehead and Boomstick giveaways. Please don't hesitate to send your ideas and suggestions. Don't forget Snow Monkeys are possible next year and a new one.....the Dutchstache Chia Pet and Dutchstache Night. Please enjoy the postseason, I hope we all have something special this year that we will remember forever.

I want Dutchstache Chia Pet.
Also, a Beltre bobblehead that gets pissed if you touch his head. We surely have the technology for this.

The feeling is mutual.
You make the Rangers ballgame experience so much better. We’re glad you returned after your 1 year hiatus in Kansas City.
Thank you for bringing new ideas (Rangers Hall of Fame).
Thank you for listening to us.
Thank you for passing along our ideas to the right people.
Thank you for allowing the fans to stick around after the fireworks on Friday Night so we could witness the on-field celebration. Cheering for Oakland. Elvis running the bases after the DeJesus home run. The Victory Lap. The Ginger Ale celebration.
I hope the new ownership group understands how much you do for the team. To a lot of us, this is the face of the franchise:

Two voices of my childhood: Eric Nadel and Chuck Morgan. I have lots of respect for what you do for this orginization and am proud I root for a team that employs you.

But by then, also, the first acid distractions entered: the TV flickered; the cracks in the wall started to move; the hand soap started to breathe — those sorts of things. I sent you an email earlier today but I don’t know if I had the correct email address (I had found an older site with an email address). Anyway, I wanted to thank you and the organization for one of the best evenings at a ballgame I have ever had. The best part was that it was with my 11 year old daughter. We stayed for the game, the A’s/Angels game and the celebration…she’s still talking about it. The whole night was incredible and it was possible because you and the organization make the fans a priority.

It was an attempt at humor…to my knowledge there is not a chia pet that does this.
to answer a post a little further down, possible 4 turn back the clock uniform nights next year.

Any idea on what era the Rangers would be going for?
For personal reasons, I’d love to see the Ryan era jerseys again. I’ve always felt that those were the best jerseys that the team has ever worn.
Also, it would be cool if the team pitched in and got matching era jerseys for the opponents.

Throwbacks
There are still a lot of hurdles to jump over, but what I presented:
1970s home whites in May
1980s Ryan era in June vs. Houston
1990s 1994 style in July
1970 powder blues for Hall of Fame weekend in August
by chuckranger83 on Sep 27, 2011 2:05 PM CDT up reply actions 6 recs
Awesome
It would be weird to see a team in road powder blue jerseys, but we still have “Texas” on the front of our current jerseys, so I guess it wouldn’t matter too much.
One thing that would be cool to see would be an Alumni game kinda like what Minnesota did when Ron was there. Even a three inning exhibition softball game would be awesome with some of the former players during Hall of Fame weekend.
But still, even the idea of throwbacks makes me happy.

Make it happen. Of course, I’m guessing that the Dutchstache goes the way of the Claw and Antlers next year, so this won’t be a timely give-away.

Great job Chuck
Covering the promos and ticket specials week to week it was even more clear to me than it had been how much thought and work goes into that side of the equation. Moving giveaways to Mondays and extending many of them to everyone in attendance was a very nice touch and certainly one of the many factors (along, of course, with the Ranger’s performance on the field) that helped to make the record possible. It also helps that with some of the reasonable ticket prices and being allowed to bring your own food/drink that a day or night at the ballpark can be very affordable even on a tight budget.
On to the playoffs.
Chuck
Thank you for continuing to do what you do. While there are many who would choose to ignore new technological advancements, you seem to embrace them and everyone benefits from your foresight. An example of this is the sound system that you installed in the off season. Coming to the ballpark as often as my family does, we definitely notice the difference in clarity. Now your park is a standard for sports parks around the country.
A few possible ideas for next year… With your theme of 40th anniversary… how about a retro Saturday night, where the Rangers would wear throwbacks uniforms. I think the Angels did something like this for their Friday nights.
Also, I will continue to push for a 6:05PM saturday start time. Maybe tough in the summer, but at least in april-may-September. Makes it easier to take the kids and get them home reasonably earlier.
Thanks Chuck.
For everything you do for the fans we offer heartfelt appreciation.

Someone else mentioned this in a thread last week....
The Angels had a giveaway earlier this season of a gumball machine….class the thing up with the Rangers logo and it would look great on my desk at work….

I went to the Train post game concert at PNC park last August. The pirates really do a great job with their inpark entertainment… The fireworks show is also really spectacular. I mean Macy’s 4th of July type spectacular.
Growing up here, I can remember the Beach Boys setting up in Arlington Stadium. The pre or postgame concerts on the North lawns are OK, but I think if you had it IN the ballpark, it would really be nice.
