We got there as early as possible so we didn’t run into too much trouble. Dont know how it was closer to gametime though
Last year, it was the Sunday early start with Cowboys/Titans at the later start.
We went to both games. Pretty cool you can do that in some cities these days.

I think the football game kicked at 2:30 and the Rangers started at 4. My friends and I got out to the park at 11 (5 hours before first pitch) and it was fine. As both the football and baseball games got closer to start time it got more crowded but as I said we were already set up and drinking so we didn’t care about traffic

I've done this and can confirm it works.
Although getting kicked out of a playoff game would be on a whole other level of suck than getting kicked out of a Rangers/Mariners game in June.

But they still had all that starting pitching plus Hellickson and a lot
of infrastructure left over from some good teams between Longoria, Upton, Zobrist.
That’s a great FO they have and Joe Maddon (sp?) is one of the best managers in MLB.

I don't know what part of the season it was (wanna say late July / early August)
but at that time the Rays were the lowest scoring team in the AL when playing at home.
Seems like Manny could have helped there but not sure who gets bumped from lineup if Damon is in the OF instead of DH.

but should JD be in the conversation? I know he didn’t make a blockbuster trade like the blockbuster last year, but he had the smarts to give up Frank for Napoli, managed to sign Beltre, moved Ogando to the rotation and traded for Koji and Mike Adams to solidify the bullpen. I’d think those moves stack up as good or better than anyones

I don’t disagree at all that Feliz can do it, I’m just saying he’s got more to prove and a farther way to go.

He's also only 23.
Not too much mileage on that arm as of now. Ogando doing work this year, combined with Harry/Holland doing their thing helped ease my concerns, but I’m still on board with him starting eventually.
Lest we forget, our bullpenisawesomenow, and finding a good closer is easier than finding a potential TORP.

Certainly noone gave much a chance to Ogando for sticking, but he shocked most. I believe I shall remain hopefully ambivalent towards Neftali’s chances.

When Feliz was a starter he wasn't churning out 150+ inning seasons in the minors
The highest he went was in 08 when he pitched 127 innings between A and AA ball. Even then he only averaged 4.2 innings per start
And he was 20 years old.
It’s stupid to draw conclusions on his potential longevity now from what happened in minor league starts then.

One of the Javascript files failed to load for you.
If you hover your mouse over a subject line you’ll see it’s just the page URL with a “#” which means “take me to the top” but normally there’s a JS event listener that intercepts that and toggles the post visibility instead. And likewise, the z stuff is a JS listener for keyboard events.
Refresh, maybe clear cache/try a different browser, and it should start working again if it’s able to load the file properly the next time.

but most libraries now use this site.. http://www.overdrive.com/ you can search their list of libraries by zip code. Your library card/number or whatever.. will get you access to the collection and you can download them that way

You just need the library card and it’s all done online..it’s not the greatest selection of course, but they’re free. They do have a decent selection of popular books.. I’m sure it’s not gonna be everything she wants to read but it’ll definitely keep her from purchasing things all the time. They have a limited number of simultaneous check outs on each book so you can get on “waiting lists” for books and it’ll automatically email you when it’s available (then you have like 3 days to log in and download it). You also have a maximum of 14 days (i think) to read the book then it automatically returns itself

I'm a little surprised that more schools don't offer an online streaming service at least for events that are not on tv.
Seems it could make some money and provide your fans near and far with access to events they want to watch.
I asked that question of Nick Joos at Baylor and was told that it is much more expensive than people think.

Yeah, it really wouldn't be cheap to stream all your @whoever baseball/WBB/volleyball/whatever games.
Even the home ones wouldn’t be cheap, and I doubt having only non-conference basketball games and baseball games would give you a shot at breaking even.

Actually I guess they didn't so much back-load the schedules this year (though they do seem to really dislike early conference games all around)
but just pulled some surprising wins like Iowa State over Iowa, K-State over Miami, and Baylor over TCU.
But did they play any conference games before last weekend?
I thought this was common
3 cupcakes and one tough non-conference game then run through your conference schedule. It just seems the easiest way administratively to deal with the schedule

That’s the best bang for your buck.
Otherwise get some Sennheisers. I don’t know what the current sweet spot/model numbers are.

In ear is a bit more convenient for walking around the lab purposes, but then again, I don’t know if I want to be wearing headphones that nice in the lab. I always assumed that I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference in sound quality between those expensive headphones and the ~$25 ones, but my experience with the Beats headphones has me thinking differently.

I haven’t heard the Beats myself, but I’ve read that they’re decent but as decent as the price.

Good in-ear stuff is basically like wearing earplugs, which is great for long trips or flights or just chiling on my own,
but also why I don’t use mine at work and such.
I wear mine 60% of the time I'm at work.
The other 40%, I’m either in court or talking to the judge.
