Texas Farm Review: Rangers Top 25 Prospects
Just re-launched Texas Farm Review for 2012. Only $10 for the entire season if you subscribe before March 1st. Yearly subs after I leave for Spring Training will be $14.95 for the entire 2012 season. Lots of heavy-lifting (content wise) during those weeks on the back fields of Surprise, with patches of intensity throughout the season, specifically during the AZL and Fall Instructional League campaigns. Hope to have you on-board for 2012!

In the wee, small hours of the morning,
While the whole wide world is fast asleep
Parks lies awake and thinks about the kid
And never even thinks of counting sheep
When his lonely heart has learned it’s lesson
Parks would be his if only he would get the call
In the wee small hours of the morning
That’s the time Parks misses him most of alll.

look people
if you care at all about the rangers and prospects, this is the site for you.
its ten dollars. its the most in depth/best prospect writer about the rangers (specifically)
…pay the man!
Scout: He was a first-round pick right? Got a huge bonus?
KG: Oh yeah.
Scout: Well, he spent a lot of it on milkshakes.
If we could get some boobies on this place, I might never come back to LSB again.
Alas…
But the prospects talk is still top-notch.

No disrespect to JParks, but that’s still Cole by a longshot.
Cole also costs 80$ / year
he may put out great stuff (and i have no doubt he does) but for 80$ / year he better be the best writer there is on prospects, period.
Scout: He was a first-round pick right? Got a huge bonus?
KG: Oh yeah.
Scout: Well, he spent a lot of it on milkshakes.

I think that's the full price for ESPN Insider.

full price?
i think i paid ~5$ for espn insider and have had it for years (free w/ mag)
looks like the 80$/year is access to all of scout.com’s site – not just cole’s part

Yes.
You get access to all of scout. Piliere’s stuff around draft time is outstanding.
Hmm, didn't know that.
That’s pretty tempting.

Yeah,
I never could get the $5 thing to work. If you try to sign up from scratch without any discount, I think it’s $80.
Honestly, and this is by no means an insult to JCole, but I’d rather have Insider…and that’s coming from somebody who’s very ambivalent about ESPN. Fantasy football, NFL Draft, NBA, NCAA football and basketball…just lots and lots of coverage there.

yeah im a big fan of espn insider (for 5$)
just get the mag and you get insider access fwiw

I know.
I signed up for that deal, but never figured out how to sign up for another Insider account. So instead, I’ve annoyingly been getting 2 mags each issue.

If you're ambivalent
you can go for one month. Subscribe during these periods: ST, Draft, Instructs
However, the most valuable part for me
is his coverage during the season. Cole covers the prospects throughout the year, taking multiple weeklong road trips to visit each club, interviews lots of players and coaches and writes up his scouting reports about the kids progress throughout the year, Spring training through instructs. If you want a complete assessment of how prospects are developing (or not) Cole is the only way to go.
the coach interviews are always good

The player interviews are my favorite. I love hearing what they think about
their game and how they go about improving themselves, especially guys who get interviewed young and then a couple years later.

Yup.
IMO, if you’re looking to understand more about the Rangers’ farm, it’s well worth the money. That you get the other scout sites is great too.
Thought about Insider, but I’d only be paying for Klaw. Jason Grey’s gone to some org (forget which), so he’s the only guy worth paying attention to I think…unless I’m forgetting someone.
he went to TB
i believe
i only pay for insider b/c i get it for something like 3$ a year via espn the mag

Yep, same
And I just got an offer to extend for another full year at a single dollar.

worth ten times that......

if i can hit on 1 player in the late rounds of a minor league draft in a salary keeper, im happy.

If anybody has issue with the login/or re-direct
please contact me via the site or at jparks (at) baseballprospectus (dot) com. Some bugs exist because its WordPress and therefore a crapshoot. Also, since all accounts from 2011 were cleared from the system, you will have to create (or re-create) a new login/password to sign up the 2012 sub.
Many thanks.
I ended up having to create a new login...

This article about David Perez
the day he wins his Cy Young in 2016… it’s so good, Jason. Probably the second best thing you’ve ever written, after that amazing write up on Jordan Akins when he was named #1 overall by BA.

Just wanted to thank all the people who have already signed up for the site. Had some glitches with WordPress sending confirmations to SPAM, but other than that, it’s been pretty decent, I hope to provide good content for the 2012 season, and even though I don’t offer the type of comprehensive prospect service that good friend Jason Cole offers over at LoneStarDugout.com (get subs to his site!), I will certainly try to provide sound scouting for the 2012 season. I have #want.
Last year's content was awesome, and I'm sure this year will be even better.
Thanks for the deal.
