Rangers exchange arbitration figures with four

ARLINGTON, TX - OCTOBER 01: Mike Napoli #25 of the Texas Rangers and Nelson Cruz #17 celebrate scoring on a two-run RBI double by Ian Kinsler #5 with Elvis Andrus #1 in the sixth inning of Game Two of the American League Division Series against the Tampa Bay Rays at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington on October 1, 2011 in Arlington, Texas. The Rangers have exchanged arbitration figures with their four remaining arbitration-eligible players -- Mike Napoli, Elvis Andrus, Nelson Cruz, and Matt Harrison.

Per Jon Heyman on Twitter, the figures for the Rangers players are as follows:

Mike Napoli asked for $11.5 million, the Rangers offered $8.3 million

Nelson Cruz asked for $7.5 million, the Rangers offered $5.5 million

Elvis Andrus asked for $3.6 million, the Rangers offered $2.65 million

Matt Harrison's arbitration figures aren't out yet, but I will update this when they become available.

My guess is that all four players end up settling their cases prior to arbitration. The last time the Rangers had a case go to arbitration was when Doug Melvin was g.m., and Lee Stevens had his case go to the arbitrator. Of the four potential cases, Mike Napoli's would seem the most likely to go to arbitration, but I suspect all of them will work something out.

UPDATE -- Per Evan Grant, Matt Harrison has asked for $3.5 million, and the Rangers have offered $2.45 million.

I was thinking about how cool it would be to get Prince Fielder

But at this point, I really just want confirmation that Darvish is in the fold. Anything else on top of that is just gravy.

The Rangers haven't signed all their arbitration guys yet?

I don't have any evidence

but I’m blaming this on the front office anyways.

Matt Harrison has agreed with the #Rangers on a one-year deal for $2.95 million, avoiding arbitration. That didn’t take long.

that's funny

they just needed a couple more hours to work it out.

Just needed all the cards on the table.

They had to exchange figures today, so they did and found a midpoint both sides could live with.
