Setting an attendance record in Dallas in 1950
Interesting historical piece on the efforts by the Dallas Eagles of the Texas League in 1950 to set an attendance record by playing their Opening Day game at the Cotton Bowl, and bringing a team of Hall of Famers in.

Dallas Eagles fans...
…will remember a very good left-fielder named Wilcy Moore. Moore played with the team in the mid-50’s. He is still alive and kicking, living in Muleshoe, Texas. I made connections with him through his son-in-law and was able to have a 15-minute phone conversation a few weeks ago. It was quite a thrill, since he was a favorite of mine as a baseball-lovin’ kid in the 50’s.
