Fuck him
He doesn’t like it here but rejects a trade to get him out of here. That said I wonder what player was coming back our way?

I'd rather keep him anyway...
Now, if this means the Rangers end up getting a worse deal if they unload him somewhere he will go, then yes.

this is pretty much my sentiments
A baseball game is simply a nervous breakdown divided into nine innings.
I am going back and forth on whether on I want to find out what the deal was before Koji beheaded it
Jeff Mathis
and his unworldly .920 2012 OPS.

This is what I was saying elsewhere.
Folks read it in terms of the Fielder signing, but given how that unfolded, that’s not at all the point.
The point is that the Rangers apparently had a deal they liked for Uehara, and despite his kvetching last season, he nuked it.
I’m not particularly happy with him.

yes, fuck him, I got grilled in the last thread for not wanting to suck Koji's cock for exercising his right
why do Rangers fans have to be happy with his decision? JD clearly wanted to move him to help the Rangers and Koji rejected the trade.
by Baseball North on Jan 24, 2012 9:49 PM CST up reply actions
Because JD traded for him with a contract that gave him the right to not accept a trade to Toronto?

yes, I agree with the logistics
but doesn’t mean we have to accept it so candidly

Again, you seem to think people are giddy about him doing this.
Who is reacting that way? Who is happy about this trade falling through?

why aren't more people upset at Koji for, in a sense, screwing the Rangers over
by not accepting the trade. Rather than just accepting his “right to refuse” the trade.

How did this screw the Rangers over?
We may look back in a few years and thank the good lord that Koji decided to stay.
How the hell does that screw the Rangers over?
If you think him turning down a trade the Jays screws us, you don’t have much confidence in our front office.

This makes no sense. None.
The FO wanted to deal him (exact reasons being somewhat unclear, no?). Koji prevented that from happening. That he was exercising a bargained-for contractual right doesn’t insulate him from the charge that he’s interfered with the way our FO wanted this thing to go down.

The front office made Prince an offer.
Him agreeing was their intent and would have made the team better.
By declining that agreement within his right, he has harmed the team.

I don't know. Neither do you.
Did Koji Uehara complain about being in Texas last season?
Garoon: Banned on LSB. Available Only Via Supplement.
Yes, really.
I’m not arguing he asked to be traded. But what he wrote about Texas, and his feelings about being there and performing there, were definitely complaints.

I recall him saying he missed Baltimore and was having trouble figuring out how to get out of his funk after being traded...
by ghostofErikThompson on Jan 24, 2012 10:26 PM CST up reply actions
There was more than that.
Heat, living conditions, and so forth. Wasn’t sure he was happy with his job. That sort of thing.
Garoon: Banned on LSB. Available Only Via Supplement.
I took the wasn't sure he was happy with his job to be sort of tongue and cheek and awkwardness about not coming in and being awesome immediately...
but perhaps I am wrong.
I also think Koji will be pretty good next season and I was hoping he would still be a Ranger, but, I could wrong about that too.
by ghostofErikThompson on Jan 24, 2012 10:31 PM CST up reply actions
I think Uehara could be good in 2012.
I didn’t see anything tongue in cheek in what I read. Now, maybe he’s changed his mind, and really, really wants to pitch for Texas.
But then the decision to try to trade him to Toronto seems fairly odd, doesn’t it?
Garoon: Banned on LSB. Available Only Via Supplement.
More likely
Toronto was the only one offering any sort of return at all.
Daniels commented earlier in the winter that teams were trying to get him but they weren’t going to give him away.
I think many wanted to buy low on him since he’s had ridiculous peripherals and the Rangers rightly didn’t want to sell low.
The Jays may have offered actual value… and have been the only one.
The O’s had interest too but apparently both sides are far apart.

Well...
I doubt we were getting anything “really nice”.
Just probably more than absolute garbage for a salary dump.
Maybe we were getting a B level prospect.

But then the decision to try to trade him to Toronto seems fairly odd, doesn’t it?
Garoon: Banned on LSB. Available Only Via Supplement.
Perhaps they want to clear some salary
Because of somewhat log jam of RH relief pitchers.
Koji didn’t transition well… and he’s $4M… makes him a likely candidate.
We listen to offers all winter… but we’re getting C level prospects and aren’t interested.
Toronto offers a B… I wouldn’t call that a “nice return”… I think of “nice return” as something you go, “Sweet”.
I think we may have gotten return that we didn’t immediately go “WTF?!?!?!?!”
"I became an optimist when I discovered that I wasn't going to win any more games by being anything else." by Earl Weaver
As it turns out,
we should read more carefully.
The linked article claims that the talks never advanced because Uehara rejected the deal to Toronto.
If that’s true, there was no B prospect agreed upon, because they hadn’t gotten far enough along…
… and that takes a lot of the wind out of my annoyance.
Garoon: Banned on LSB. Available Only Via Supplement.
And the only reason anyone knows about it.
Was because Koji (or his people) told the Japanese media that he was asked if he would accept a trade to Toronto.
American media may have never known otherwise.
"I became an optimist when I discovered that I wasn't going to win any more games by being anything else." by Earl Weaver
We wouldn't be raging about it.
Maybe the Rangers have talked to teams about trading him several times… but because they weren’t on his NTC, Koji never knew about it.
"I became an optimist when I discovered that I wasn't going to win any more games by being anything else." by Earl Weaver
I'm not raging about it.
That still doesn’t change the fact that if the Rangers are trying to move him that badly, given his salary and past and potential performance, something is odd here — wouldn’t you say?
Something that suggests the Rangers are not simply trying to trade a valuable trade chip for maximum value?
Garoon: Banned on LSB. Available Only Via Supplement.
I don't think we know
How badly the Rangers are trying to move him.
I don’t think it can be that badly since he’s still here.
"I became an optimist when I discovered that I wasn't going to win any more games by being anything else." by Earl Weaver
OK.
Do we at least agree that Uehara’s peripherals, even in Texas suggest he should be good in 2012 barring a continued astronomical long-ball rate… and that his past performance suggests that at $4M, he represents at least a couple million of surplus value to a team that could use bullpen stability?
Garoon: Banned on LSB. Available Only Via Supplement.
That was my assumption yes.
"I became an optimist when I discovered that I wasn't going to win any more games by being anything else." by Earl Weaver
So then why do you think
they’d still be actively talking to teams about trading him, if you think the best offer they’re getting is a B prospect?
Garoon: Banned on LSB. Available Only Via Supplement.
Either salary is really tighter than we know
Or Koji has strongly requested a trade.
"I became an optimist when I discovered that I wasn't going to win any more games by being anything else." by Earl Weaver
If salary is that tight,
how could the Rangers be serious about signing Fielder? There was zero possibility he’d accept $4M or less for 2012, right?
Garoon: Banned on LSB. Available Only Via Supplement.
My assumption was the move was
Preempting a salary acquisition.
"I became an optimist when I discovered that I wasn't going to win any more games by being anything else." by Earl Weaver
What move?
The Uehara move?
That’s what I’m saying: even if you dump $4M in salary, if you’re so tight that you still need to get rid of Uehara, how does that clear enough room for Fielder?
Garoon: Banned on LSB. Available Only Via Supplement.
Rangers were gonna top Detroit's offer...
… until Koji nixed the trade.
That $4m made all the difference…
Toronto has some baller B level prospects.
Wouldn’t mind tapping up that farm system.
Like whom?
Who do you figure’s fair return for Uehara, if you set any dissatisfaction in Texas aside?
Garoon: Banned on LSB. Available Only Via Supplement.
I agree with you on the first and third,
but I can’t imagine the Blue Jays putting them out there for Uehara, can you?
Garoon: Banned on LSB. Available Only Via Supplement.
Not now.
Marisnick would have surprised me. Syndergaard is so far away that I could see him being on the table. Hutchison doesn’t fit the MO of a typical Daniels target, but he’s a personal fave. He doesn’t have the sexiest FB but his command is excellent and he’s close to being ready as a 21 year old.
Higher floor.
Again, probably not a Daniels target but someone I wouldn’t mind getting back.
True.
But that seems to be the opposite of what people are arguing here.
Garoon: Banned on LSB. Available Only Via Supplement.
It's all kind of odd, really...
It seems like if he asked to be traded they’d have discussed if Toronto would be viable before getting down this road far enough that we’d know about it.
And if he’s just a guy they liked but the Blue Jays liked him better and offered a decent package, then I still can’t really begrudge Koji personally because the Rangers acquired him knowing full well he could say no to the Blue Jays.
by ghostofErikThompson on Jan 24, 2012 10:40 PM CST up reply actions
I do know.
Jon Daniels specifically said they would like to sign him.
Thad Levine said it would not be for a lack of effort or creativity.
We made an offer.
Koji lamented his poor performance and the challenge of adapting to a new area.
Are you really unsure whether or not the Rangers attempted to sign Prince Fielder?
"I became an optimist when I discovered that I wasn't going to win any more games by being anything else." by Earl Weaver
No, I'm not unsure about that.
What I’m arguing is that you don’t know if Fielder declining the Rangers’ offer harmed them.
Garoon: Banned on LSB. Available Only Via Supplement.
You don't know that Koji declining the trade harmed them either.
Since you don’t know the exact terms. All you know is the Rangers attempted to trade him and were unable to because a player exercised his contractual right.
We also know the Rangers attempted to sign Prince Fielder and were unable because he exercised his contractual (from a CBA perspective) right of free agency.
"I became an optimist when I discovered that I wasn't going to win any more games by being anything else." by Earl Weaver
Sure I do.
I know the Rangers wanted to make a trade. I don’t know how much the Rangers wanted Fielder, or how seriously engaged they were in negotiations with him — how far along their talks were. Based on the public comments, not very. And, of course, there was nothing to lead them to believe that Fielder would really want to come to Texas, everything else being equal.
On the other hand, they apparently had an agreement worked out with Toronto. They worked on that trade for a reason. It would surprise me if part of that reason wasn’t Uehara’s expression of unhappiness in Texas, and his desire to be back in Baltimore. Uehara deciding to veto a trade that the Rangers had worked out to their apparent satisfaction is certainly within his rights. But given the context, I can certainly be reasonably unhappy with how he’s conducted his business.
I have no such feelings about Fielder.
Garoon: Banned on LSB. Available Only Via Supplement.
I think the Rangers
Were much more interested in acquiring Fielder for terms they could live with than they were getting rid of Koji on terms they could live with.
You can feel whatever emotion you choose. You’re a fan.
But I don’t think Koji was any more harmful in his conduct than Prince not agreeing to sign with us for what we offered.
I’m sure the Rangers had great interest… not enough for the ridiculous contract… but enough that there were told they weren’t in the running on the day before signing. That’s not insignificant.
"I became an optimist when I discovered that I wasn't going to win any more games by being anything else." by Earl Weaver
Again, that last paragraph
doesn’t have any real evidence to support it, at the moment.
On the other hand, Uehara apparently vetoed a trade that would’ve gone through without his veto, right?
Garoon: Banned on LSB. Available Only Via Supplement.
We have as much evidence to support my last paragraph
As that.
Last night a Toronto sports guy said he was looking into it after the first Japanese rumors broke and said the deal wasn’t done because the Rangers wanted too much.
We only have “news” that he vetoed. Same as the “news” that the Rangers were going hard (Rosenthal) and a finalist (Heyman) and very interested (Nightengale) and not for a lack of creativity (Levine in an interview) for Fielder.
"I became an optimist when I discovered that I wasn't going to win any more games by being anything else." by Earl Weaver
But you are focusing on the wrong thing
Imagine the Rangers really wanted to sign X for 2yr/30M and X rejected it because he wanted to play in New York for the same money? Isn’t that the same thing?
Of course, you could be mad at X, too
by ab03 on Jan 24, 2012 10:44 PM CST via mobile up reply actions
First, I'm not mad at Uehara.
But I feel similarly about this as I do about Young’s public pouting and subsequent comments.
Again, maybe Uehara’s changed his tune, but if so, I haven’t seen him do it publicly. The last I saw from him, it was kvetching about being in Texas.
I’m not going to run around saying “fuck that guy,” but I also don’t see any reason I should be neutral about his rejecting a trade Texas wanted to pull the trigger on, after the comments he made.
Maybe I should just let those comments go.
Garoon: Banned on LSB. Available Only Via Supplement.
But, this is interesting:
A report in Japan said Uehara didn’t want to move his family from Baltimore to Toronto.
So I guess the question going forward is: where is Uehara willing to move his family to?
Because I have a very hard time believing Texas is working to trade him just because of a $4M salary dump.
Garoon: Banned on LSB. Available Only Via Supplement.
Wait, would you be mad at X?
I don’t really know how to interpret the comments because I don’t think there is a clear quote saying he hated it here.
But assuming he did, I don’t see how it really affects the thinking. It’s still just exercising his self interested right.
I was mad at Palmeiro because it was for like 3 months but a year seems like a long enough time.
by ab03 on Jan 24, 2012 10:59 PM CST via mobile up reply actions
No, I wouldn't be mad at X.
I might be annoyed, though, if he’d talked about how he’d really wanted to play in Texas before passing up a Rangers offer that was equal to the New York offer.
Uehara never stated that he hated it in Texas. But his blog entries (and the media reports) made it fairly clear he was not a happy camper with the Rangers.
It’s possible the only place he wouldn’t be unhappy is Baltimore, but that still doesn’t make me particularly happy that he’s resisting the Rangers attempts to deal him.

That he made a choice he had a contractual right *does not* insulate him from the charge that he screwed the Rangers over.
At best, he was complicit in the Rangers’ screwing themselves over. This, of course, assumes that we were dealing him in an effort to improve the team, rather than because he requested a trade.

Doesnt the term "screwing one over" tend to mean something big?
Trading a relief pitcher for a couple of other players doesnt constitute “screwing over” does it? Does how whole season come down to this trade?
There is a difference between things not working out the way the team wanted
And “screwing [the team] over.” That implies malice.

This is a bit like saying that Koji's (very limited) NTC
Was something the organization bargained for. That seems unlikely to me, but I admit to not knowing exactly how such an issue could affect negotiations.

"I have thought a lot about why people get so hostile online, and I have come to believe it is primarily because we live in a society with a hypertrophied sense of justice and an atrophied sense of humility and charity, to put the matter in terms of the classic virtues." --Alan Jacobs
Did Koji do the harm?
Or did the Orioles do the harm when they gave him the limited no-trade?
Or did the Rangers do the harm when they traded for him, knowing that he had a limited no-trade?
Mike Olt would be appalled by
the vitriol in this thread….he’s waiting for the right time to step in and be the voice of reason.

It's possible the Rangers did themselves the harm
But I think their (i.e. the Rangers’) percentage of fault is driven to a large degree by whether Koji asked to be dealt.

Even if he did ask to be traded.
The Rangers are under no obligation to trade him. Nor could you assume his performance would definitely suffer if he didn’t.

Are you certain he asked to be dealt to anyone?
Because that is the only way your stance on this issue works.
By that line of reasoning...
Any player who is overpaid and doesn’t retire is doing the Rangers harm by not performing at a level adequate to their compensation.

I don’t think he’s said he didn’t want to be here. That was only reported by an Orioles beat guy. I believe Uehara has only said that it was tough adjusting to a new team after years in Baltimore.

I have never said Michael Young wasn't great in 2011.
On the road he did quite well except for a horrendous June with a sub .500 OPS. It happens.
He also had a subpar road OPS of .700ish in September when facing the same pitching that Beltre did.
What I’d like you to understand is that I think Michael Young is a good hitter. I think he benefits from RBiA… all of the Rangers hitters do.
The point is that I can apply your ridiculous small sample arguments about Beltre to Young and it paints Young in a poor light. But you ignore it for Young. You shrug it off as not being an issue… but with Beltre it’s a big deal.

well, you can be "pretty much" anything

I’d say the Tigers have the highest divisional win probability of any team in the AL. Probably not highest playoff probability. But that division is awfully awful…

They'll give the runs back.
Seriously, though. When I wrote the ALCS preview, I harped a bunch on how the biggest difference between the two teams was fielding. And that actually even manifested itself on the field in the series in ways that people could actually see.
So their response is Prince Fielder and putting Miguel Cabrera at third.

If you're trying to get at "do you think Fielder improves them even if Cabrera moves to third. . ."
Yes, I do. I just don’t think it improves them as much as someone would think simply looking at “now Prince Fielder plays for their team.” And certainly not enough to make that contract look particularly good for them. I don’t think it’s a great improvement in the short term, and I think it’s a probable nightmare in the long term.
Before even getting in to my belief that Fielder is overrated (I wanted him, but not because I think he’s anything better than borderline elite), and not going to age well.

And Fielder is more HR dependent for value than the typical player, why?
As far as % of his value derived from long balls?
SB Nation Dallas-Ft. Worth - Christopher Fittz is better than porn!
It makes sense to me.
The reason there are parks that are neutral despite suppressing homeruns is because the players still just hit doubles instead.
But his home runs are these lofty fly balls. It seems like he’d lose more home runs to outs as opposed to doubles and singles than the average hitter.
SB Nation Dallas-Ft. Worth - Christopher Fittz is better than porn!
Could be.
I haven’t watched Fielder enough to know that this is true. I don’t see that money “JEs” in his chart to say anything, and I don’t know how he’ll adjust to Comerica. I’d expect some settling in his first year. That said, I also haven’t brushed up on all of the other parks he’ll play in. His HR/FB% is high, for sure, but then so is Pujols’, Votto’s, and Bautista’s, to name a few…
Garoon: Banned on LSB. Available Only Via Supplement.
I just. . . I don't really hate the Tigers, but this deal is hilarious to me.

but to really highlight the difference
if you’re the Angels, you’re only hope for winning anything in the next half decade is to go all in on a player like Pujols and hope that he doesn’t age. That wasn’t a terrible deal for them. It was incredibly risky, and I am kind of happy they took that risk, but not doing anything was probably a worse move for that club.
For Texas, the team is established as one of, if not the, best teams in the AL. It didn’t need Fielder to maintain that status. They lost one key player – Wilson – and they replaced him with Darvish. That’s a foolish risk for a team in the drivers seat to take.
Go Rice Owls!
Would be a Matt Harrison fan, but I only like superstars
Pujols was absolutely necessary for them to improve a stagnant offense.
Fielder was a luxury for us.

Maybe for this year.
I’m not sure that is true for 2013 and beyond.
And my point was meant to mean years 5-10 of the deal, not the now.
Years 5-10 of both deals are likely to be quite bad.
Especially if Pujols is older than people think he is. Right now he’s still a transcendent player, but he may not be 3 years from now, much less 8.

I agree. Completely.
It just seems that Angels fans don’t care about that issue and aren’t talking about it.
And I think we would be if the Rangers signed that deal with Texas.
again...
it all has to do with where you are. If you’re the Angels, your choices are “don’t compete now and maybe compete in 5 years” or “compete now and a little less likely to compete in 5 years”. Seems pretty easy to me.
Still, the Angels have to hoep for the Rangers to suffer some setback. But if they do, they positioned themselves to be ready to take advantage. At a long term risk, of course. But kudos to them for at least trying (unlike Billy Beane or Jack Z).

Eight of those in a haze of a marathon about ten years ago…
It didn’t floor me like The Wire did, though. Could be personal preference, I suppose…
The Wire is like an excellent and epic novel in its complexity and depth…
Would you say it captured the Dickensian aspect of the thing?

So I know its a ridiculous article that makes no sense, but this in particular had me confused
Nomura, it seemed, was trying to dissuade certain teams from bidding on Darvish by floating a story that he would only play for teams located on the West Coast…
…
…
Why did Darvish want to play for a team on the West Coast?
Maybe he thought the environment there would make adjusting to life in the United States easier. Fair enough.
But the reason is really irrelevant. When you put your name up for an open bid, like the current posting system requires, you take your chances. You don’t try to manipulate matters after the fact.
Based on what he wrote, the logical conclusion is that Darvish’s people told certain teams that they were only interested in going to a West Coast team where they knew there would be little interest. So if he wanted Texas to win, he could help make that happen by scaring some teams away from wasting time with a bid. But instead, that writer ends up saying that he has no idea why Yu’s agent would want this and that clearly Yu is a liar and didn’t want Texas to win the bidding.
Josey Wales: "And if you think intangibles really do exist, how in the F could you vote Ellsbury as the MVP?"
Adam J. Morris: "If it weren’t for my horse, I wouldn’t have spent that year in college."
Probably
but am I wrong to not see anyway how you get that Yu is a liar based on that?

That makes him ‘real’ to me is his intimate knowledge of Tech sports history and things on the campus. You have to have gone there for some time to be able to say some of the stuff he does.

We'll make that happen.
But, on the Outlaw, here’s the thing: I’ve only really gotten pissed at him once. I called him a “fucking moron.” I remember it clearly, because I remember how stupid I felt as soon as it happened.
Now, the Jew-baiting is and was ugly, and I can’t and won’t forget that. And the ridiculously wrong summary of the BBTiA Young articles was silly, and well worth the dead-horse-beating, in my opinion.
I’m astonished at how wound up he can get a lot of folks on here, but I’m also bored with it. And it’s sad, because there’s more to him than he gives LSB, and than he gave NMLR, and I wish that someday he’d give up the shtick and just post.
But I know it almost certainly won’t happen.

"I became an optimist when I discovered that I wasn't going to win any more games by being anything else." by Earl Weaver
If it's an LSB thing... no.
I am aware of the song’s lack of actual irony. Do people believe that was intentional?
"I became an optimist when I discovered that I wasn't going to win any more games by being anything else." by Earl Weaver
My friend's theory:
Not a thing in that song is ironic. Not a single thing. And yet the song’s title is “Ironic.” And the catch lyric is, “isn’t it ironic?”
Now: imagine a song with that title and catch lyric, in which not a thing is ironic, despite descriptions of lots of things that people would certainly think was ironic if they didn’t actually understand the concept of irony…
Isn’t it “Ironic”?
“Don’t you think?”

I haven't gotten through all of the threads
but I think I’ve read enought to realize there is some serious Koji hate brewing here.
Seriously though, why hate the guy for excersizing his contractual rights? Because it was once reported by this one source that he had a hard time adjusting here away from his family and complained about hot weather? And that’s enough proof to say he wants out of Texas?
This may be just me, but when I saw Koji playing for us last season, I thought he was a very enthusiastic player who gives his all when his playing. As much as his late season blunders made me pull out my hair, never did I sense that he wasn’t giving his best out there or hating playing for us. I still remember him all pumped up after mowing down some of the first batters he faced as a Ranger, coming back to the dugout and giving his teammates high fives. In no way did he seem to me that he resented playing here.
So if I had to choose which to believe, a one-time report from this one particular source or his attitude on the field that I saw with my own eyes, I’ll choose the latter.
Just my two cents.

People are mad because:
Koji underperformed last year in Texas.
Koji said he didn’t want to be here.
The Rangers gave him an opportunity to not be here.
He rejected it.
That said, I’m a little surprised at some of the outrage…
Koji never said he didn't want to be here.

He was never publicly quoted about it
but the Orioles’ beat writer said that he was talking to people in Baltimore about wanting to return. It’s hard to fault the guy because he never said it himself, but it’s also tough to keep it from affecting your opinion of him as a Rangers fan.

Cespedes
If Cespedes wants 5-7m per year for 4-6 years, what is the minimum production that you want from him in, say, one of the corners (rather than CF)?
I don't know much about him at all
other than what has been written in the last month. some teams think he can stick in CF for now (moving to a corner in a couple years) while others like him in a corner right away. Just don’t have a feel for him.
Ok. That would make a difference.
I mean, a 125 wRC+ with plus defense makes him a 4-WAR per season sort of guy. I don’t know if he can do that, but that’d be pretty amazing.

Or the intelligence of people. Or both.
Today was about the third or fourth guest since I’ve gone there to argue with me — actually argue and yell — that I was lying to him, that they aren’t animatronic, they’re real people.
Several people a day ask if the presidents are real after watching the show. Every day. Multiple people. My wedding officiant thought they were real the first time. My roommate thought they were real the first time.
WTF?
The best part is, most people ask specifically “are they real, or wax?” No other options. Real or wax. Wax figures that. . . move and speak?

McCutch
4 years of arb left…. looks to be a 4-6 WAR player, although I’d like to see what a scout thinks about his defense in CF, to see what you should expect going forward (numbers are -14 runs in ’10 and +3.5 runs in ’11)
If you call his arb salaries $24M
That’d be ~ $90M of value and $66M of surplus value.
Profar, Perez, NeRa, Ross should come pretty close to $66M in value.
So to overpay, you can add to that. Hurts too much to be worth it, if they are thinking along those lines.
If the Rangers made that type of deal
I’d imagine it’d be during the regular season once they know for sure on Hamilton, see how his health has been for half the season, how the offense stacks up, who else becomes available…. not a big enough need to break the farm system for him right now.
Can't one of our fine local reporters do some leg work and find out what the trade was?
I just want to know what JD valued Koji at… perhaps a high upside long term prospect and a bench player for this year? Encarnacion to platoon some with Morelad or DH vs lefties when Face plays 1b?
Based on the stuff that the link points to, Uehara nixed the trade before it got very far.
Garoon: Banned on LSB. Available Only Via Supplement.
