New T.R. Sullivan Inbox column
T.R. Sullivan has a new Inbox column up at the Rangers' website...
Some interesting stuff, as he sounds like a voice of reason in regards to Roy Oswalt, deals with questions on why the Rangers don't put David Murphy in centerfield, didn't sign Francisco Cordero, and won't sign Pudge Rodriguez, and explains why "rising star" Chad Tracy was traded away, among other things...
Check it out...

Ow!
The stupid, it burns!
At least TR set a few people straight this time.
"Those cocksuckers asking me if I thought we were gonna go up there and try to work his fuckin’ pitch count ‘cause he’s on three fuckin’ days rest…you know what I told those cocksuckers? He pitch ball, ball cross plate, we gonna knock the shit out of it."
- Wash
I wonder...
…why TR put some of the dumber questions up at the beginning. I was tempted to jump off after the question that included “Roy Oswalt” and “proven Number 1 starter” in the same sentence.
Tough to fight through the stupid to get to some questions with some intellect behind them. Like when Yu Darvish can join the MLBPA.

No.
I have not read this yet, but, no.
Someone did not call Chad Tracy a rising star.
This did not happen in the world I inhabit.

he says Oswalt makes sense for the Rangers
then goes to say that our rotation is filling with players trending up and Oswalt is trending down, so it would seem that would contradict Oswalt making sense for the Rangers.
A baseball game is simply a nervous breakdown divided into nine innings.
No, what Ogando did is NOT a good measuring stick for Feliz
It’s more like an unfair comparison for nearly any pitcher moving from the pen to the rotation. Ogando was a best case, unrealistic expectation scenario, not what you should expect.

I'm glad I got to see Pudge in a Ranger uniform one more time. Totally worth it.
I just wanted it to be his last season, and I don’t want it again.

Sign him to a 1-day contract
then he can retire.

He finds work this year, becomes a Ranger next year, gets hit number 3k, calls it a day.

He is at least 2 more seasons away from 3K.
He can no longer catch every day and can’t get around on fastballs anymore. I love Pudge for personal reasons but it’s time to say goodnight.

I always knew we'd be at a point where we didn't want a recently-elite pitcher because there was no room for him in our rotation.

imo, Feliz is going to be great within a couple seasons
We need to stop halting his development with short-sightedness
So the Dodgers were a mysteryteam on Prince, that's interesting.
Although they managed to stay under the radar all the while, the Los Angeles Dodgers pushed hard for weeks to try to sign Prince Fielder and thought for a while they might have a legitimate shot at their own secret signing. The Dodgers were a surprise entrant in the sweepstakes, making a major push to sign the star slugger with an offer that guaranteed him seven years but provided a sweet four-year opt-out. And for a couple weeks, they looked like a real possibility for Prince.

Hmm
The Rangers love to tinker with their uniform design, but they have resisted that temptation this year. But they are bringing out some throwback uniforms on occasion to celebrate 40 years in Arlington.

does anyone know if Adrian Cespedes is a decent defensive SS?
Decent enough to be a utility IF candidate? A’s just DFAed him and while he’s no longer considered a future star, he seems like a decent candidate to carve out a niche in the big leagues as a utility guy.
What is this, Horseville? Because I'm surrounded by naysayers.
All of your Cedpedes belong to us

yeah, I wish I could delete that
he’s hardly played SS over the last few years, which basically answers my question.

I like how the reason we traded Chad Tracy to the franchise where his father manages the ML team...
Is because he was “blocked” by Mitch Moreland, Mike Napoli and Mike Young.
If that’s what’s blocking you from being a ML first basemen… enjoy the PCL.
