League Rules Question--I feel like I've asked this before, but I can't find it
During the course of the season, a minor leaguer can be ‘promoted’ (added off the waiver wire) to the big league team only by whoever owns their rights. Providing that they are not then taken off the minor league roster, they can later be ‘sent down’ (i.e. dropped to the waiver wire) without penalty or loss of exclusive rights, providing that they fulfill the above eligibility criteria [< 50 abs, <300IP ].
What does the bold portion mean?

basically, if you ‘drop’ a called-up (but still eligible) player from your minor league roster (i.e. create an open spot on the roster for a possible addition of another minor leaguer), you’ll have to re-add the said called-up player to your roster if you want to ‘send them back down’.

I mean, it’s good in the sense that with his age he still has a ton of untapped potential but there’s a ton of safer options right now. Not who I want to spend a 3rd on.
I don't see how Castro is particularly risky.
He can hit .300 in his sleep and while he won’t get more steals than Andrus, he’ll hit for more power and put up a much more respectable OPS. Cabrera’s a legitimate alternative to Castro but Tyler’s obviously going to lean towards the side of youth.
For me, it's more that
I’m not sure about his upside, even at 22, and whether that’s enough to make him a third-rounder.
I mean, he’ll probably end up a top three fantasy shortstop soon given how shallow the position is, but I don’t see enough outside of BA, a bit on steals and positional value for OPS.

I think his upside is tremendous.
He has the bat speed to hit 15-20 HRs (or more) with regularity. That, plus his steals and average, probably makes him the best T2 SS. The best T2 SS, given positional scarcity, is well worth an end of R3 pick.

B) I’ve never played fantasy baseball before. I’ve played a lot of fantasy hockey and football, but this is my first year of basketball and next year will be my first year of baseball in the pear league. While I’m good at data and understand some of the general concepts of fantasy sports… having zero experience in a rotisserie style league is not to be ignored. There’s no substitute for experience.
