The BBWAA has announced the 2012 Rookies of the Year, with Mike Trout winning in the American League and Bryce Harper winning in the National League.
Trout was awarded first place on every ballot in the A.L. Yu Darvish was also named on every ballot, but finished second third to Yoenis Cespedis of the Oakland A's. Wei-Yin Chen got two third place votes, and Jarrod Parker received one third place vote. Those five were the only players to appear on a ballot.

In the National League, Bryce Harper of the Nationals edged out Wade Miley of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Todd Frazier of the Reds finished third and received three first place votes, while Wilin Rosario of the Rockies finished fourth and received one first place vote. Norichika Aoki, Yonder Alonso, Matt Carpenter, and Jordan Pachecho also received votes.
