Per John Blake, Adrian Beltre has been named the Texas Rangers' 2012 Player of the Year by the D/FW chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America.
Beltre had a tremendous season in 2012, putting up a .321/.359/.561 slash line in 156 games, while also winning a (deserved) Gold Glove for his play at third base.
Two years into the free agent deal he signed with Texas after the 2010 season, Beltre is looking like one of the best signings in team history, and he's one of the most fun players to watch in the league.
Congratulations to Beltre, who I think was clearly the team's player of the year.
