Buster Posey has been named the 2012 National League MVP, and Miguel Cabrera has been named the 2012 American League MVP.
Posey got 27 first place votes. Ryan Braun was in second place and got three first place votes. Andrew McCutcheon finished in third place, and Yadier Molina, who received two first place votes, finished fourth.
Cabrera got 22 first place votes, compared to six for Mike Trout. Adrian Beltre, Robinson Cano and Josh Hamilton rounded out the top five.
Here is the full balloting and individual voters' ballots for the N.L. MVP. Craig Kimbrel got a 2nd place vote, from Tracy Ringolsby, who also had Ryan Zimmerman fifth on his ballot. That's interesting.
Here is the full balloting and individual voters' ballots for the A.L. MVP. John Lowe of the Detroit Free-Press gave Jim Johnson a third place vote. Sheldon Ocker of the Akron Beacon Journal gave Beltre a 2nd place vote, ahead of Trout.
