Larry Hagman, who played the legendary bad guy J.R. Ewing on Dallas, has died.
If you are of a certain age, the name "J.R. Ewing" carries with it a certain definitive persona that few television characters before or since have been able to generate.
Growing up in D/FW while "Dallas" was on the air, Ewing was up there with Tom Landry in terms of the individuals most readily identified with the City of Dallas.
