Lincoln was good, not great. It felt more like a 2 1/2 hour history lecture, which, as a history major, I loved, but I can see how that movie could/would bore people. I don't really see why people are bagging on Sally Field's performance... she was fine. It's not her fault DDL consumes every screen he's on. I'm also glad it focused one thing (ratification of the 13th Amendment), instead of trying to make a sweeping biopic about his life and trying to treat everything from the LD debates, Civil War, so on.
Also, this is the perfect example of a movie that will be nominated for like 34 different Oscars, really because of the director, actors, and subject matter. It's not a great movie, but it's movies like this that get blown by everyone in HW.
