The Oakland A's have re-signed righthanded starting pitcher Bartolo Colon to a one year deal
One of the pitchers who I thought might be a decent option on a one year deal to help shore up the back of the Rangers' rotation this year was Bartolo Colon. I figured he was someone who the Rangers might be able to scoop up for cheap in January if they couldn't get something done with a better pitcher.
Well, so much for that idea, as the Oakland A's have announced that they've re-signed Colon to a one year deal.
UPDATE -- Per Susan Slusser on Twitter, Colon's deal is for $3 million plus incentives.
Colon, who turns 40 next season, was in the midst of a very nice season when he got suspended in August for 50 games for testing positive for testosterone in violation of MLB's PED rules.
