Johnathan Paul Manziel (born December 6, 1992) is an American Football quarterback for the Texas A&M football team. He was highly recruited out of high school as a dual-threat quarterback with an impressive ability to extend plays.[1] On August 16, 2012, Manziel was named starter for the 2012 Texas A&M Aggies football team. He was expected to be excellent in Kevin Sumlin's Air Raid offense.[2] It would also be A&M's first season in the SEC.
Manziel is commonly referred to as "Johnny Football," a nickname given to him by fans and students at Texas A&M before the start of the 2012 season.
