Rangers interested in Ryan Raburn

Apparently, Ryan Raburn is a Na'vi - Nick Laham

The Rangers are reportedly interested in free agent outfielder Ryan Raburn

Its a headline that brings to mind the 2004-05 offseason, when Ranger g.m. John Hart stated publicly that the Rangers would be "bottom fishing" in the free agent market.

The Rangers are interested in Ryan Raburn.

Raburn turns 32 in April, is a righthanded hitting corner outfielder who has also played all the infield positions except shortstop, and who had an 891 OPS in almost 300 plate appearances in 2009.

Why is he on the market? Well, as Baseball Nation explains:

Raburn's 2012 campaign was hampered by injuries, including a thumb sprain that caused him to miss 31 days and quad problems that cost him 54 days. When healthy, he hit just .171/.226/.254 in 222 plate appearances.

My guess is that the Rangers are interested in him on a minor league deal, or perhaps, if nothing else pans out, as a platoon partner for David Murphy in left field.

So, yeah. Ryan Raburn.
