As you may have noticed, I posted yesterday about Emilie Parker. Emilie is one of the victims of the Newtown shooting, and is the little girl in this picture:
As I mentioned in my original post, this tragedy has affected me deeply...I've got a lump in my throat and my eyes are watering right now as I'm even typing this, just looking at this picture.
Emilie has family in the D/FW area -- you can read a story where her uncle, who lives in Keller, talked about her. You can also see her dad talking about her in this video:

Seeing the picture of her at TBIA, with her dad in a Rangers cap, led me to do the post asking that readers here who are, like me, moved by the tragedy and want to do something to help send a donation to my via PayPal at adamjmorris at gmail dot com, which I would then forward on to the Emilie Parker Memorial Fund.
The response has been overwhelming. So far, we have collected almost $4500 in donations, and money is still coming in. Some folks have indicated that they are going to be sending money later in the week, so my plan is to send everything off at the beginning of next week.
I wanted to do this post to thank everyone who has donated, and let you know how proud I am to be part of this community right now.
