The Winter Meetings kick off tomorrow. There will be lots of rumors coming, many involving the Rangers. Most of them won't pan out. But still...
Jeff Wilson has a story on the Rangers' priorities heading into the Winter Meetings, with Zack Greinke and Josh Hamilton being the Rangers' top priorities. Wilson says that the Rangers have contemplated a scenario where they keep Hamilton and sign Greinke, something that would strain the budget.
Evan Grant has a story about how, five years ago today in the very same city where the Winter Meetings are taking place this year, Jon Daniels arrived with the goal of acquiring Josh Hamilton from the Cincinnati Reds.
T.R. Sullivan says that the Rangers are talking to the Mets about R.A. Dickey. The Mets are talking to Dickey, who will make $5 million in 2013 and then is a free agent, about a contract extension, but if they can't work one out, they will likely deal him.

Bob Elliott has a really interesting story examining from start to end how the Blue Jays/Marlins blockbuster went down. One of the things of note was that the Marlins felt the three best farm systems in the game were the Royals', the Rangers', and the Blue Jays'.
