The Rangers have re-signed reliever Yoshinori Tateyama to a minor league contract

Per John Blake, the Rangers have re-signed reliever Yoshinori Tateyama to a minor league contract, with an invitation to the major league training camp.

The Rangers are short on relievers, and Tateyama, a sidearming righthander, has value if used in a specialist role. In his stints with Texas the past couple of seasons, Tateyama has been utilized more often as a long man or in a mop-up role, skewing his numbers, but if allowing to face primarily righthanded hitters, I think Tateyama has value.

He also has an awesome giant yellow glove.
