Free agent outfielder Nick Swisher has agreed to a four year, $56 million deal with the Cleveland Indians which includes an option for a fifth year that will "easily vest," meaning that the entire deal is anticipated to be five years, $70 million.

Swisher, who can play first base and the outfield, was a player that the Rangers had some interest in, although they were apparently not willing to make the same sort of financial commitment the Indians were.
