Multiple national, Dallas and Philadelphia media members are reporting that a deal may be close and it's for Young to decide to accept.
Michael Young's role in 2013 has been an issue of concern for the Texas Rangers. His 2012 performance was below replacement level and among the worst seasons in franchise history for an everyday regular.
The Philadelphia Phillies are in need of a 3B and have discussed acquiring Michael Young from the Rangers according to multiple reports.
T.R. Sullivan described a trade as "close" but still requiring Michael Young's approval.
Jayson Stark of ESPN has tweeted that as of this morning Young has not yet given his approval.
