Michael Young, Philadelphia Phillie? - Jake Roth-US PRESSWIRE
Evan Grant is reporting that two major league sources say Michael Young has expressed a willingness to accept a trade to Philadelphia
Michael Young, the guiding force in the Rangers clubhouse and on the field for the last decade as the team stormed to prominence, has indicated a willingness to accept a trade that will send him to Philadelphia, according to two major league sources.
According to Grant, the Rangers would be getting back 25 year old righty reliever Josh Lindblom, who was pretty terrible for the Phillies in the bullpen last year, and 22 year old righthanded minor league reliever Lisalverto Bonilla.
Also per Grant, someone is apparently going to have to kick in some cash for Young to waive his no-trade clause, although it sounds like that's not going to be a dealbreaker.
The article indicates that dealing Young means Ian Kinsler would move to first base to make room for Jurickson Profar, although if the Rangers were to bring Josh Hamilton back or trade for Justin Upton, that could change, one would think.
Grant just tweeted that the deal isn't final, as financial issues have to be worked out, but it sounds like it is pretty close to a done deal.
